Dad takes the kids to the farm overnight on a mission to plant flowers. Happy accident as we meet friends at the river and get the update on her cow that we wanted. We put a crazy impromptu treehouse up for the kids.

So for me, it’s been a struggle to see or accept God’s grace after the death of my truly loved and lovely son in law to leukemia and the grief of my beautiful daughter at 35 years old. This struggle has been real and hard. But I do see it when I watch your little twins living their best lives when their beginnings were fraught with questions and anxiety. I see it when I watch Art working through his demons and conquering them with love and strength. You may never read this or answer this or even care, but you have given me hope that there is grace. Thank you for sharing all of it for us. It helps even some of us doubters. Much love to you and your beautiful family. ❤️

I’m very sorry for your loss hun and yes we do loose sight sometimes and I know the sorrow of watching a loved one going through a severe loss I watched my mom after my brother died at 40 years old and even though I was grieving his loss he was my only sibling but it hurt more to see my mother go through the loss of her child so my condolences to you and your daughter 🙏

I love watching all of these young homesteading families from my home, North Carolina. I’m on the southeastern part of the state but I have family north of Durham & my daughter and her family live in Mount Airy. So proud of how you are all raising your families.

You're such good parents. Art took the kids to swim & to try fishing a bit, & then set up a perch & rope ladder in a tree, for the older boys to climb up into & just sit. Then Bri showed up with several flowering plant starts to fill in an older garden on their farm, which needed some weeding and her loving care and patience. With Art's help, after he mowed the grass, he brought heaps of fresh grass clippings to mulch those tender, baby plants. This holds moisture in & helps to.prevent the baby roots from drying out due to heat. So many people just throw their grass clippimgs away. The kids are learning so much about the work involved in building a good life, with both, loving patents working together. I'm very happy to see that their family is doing well. One little tip: when planting seedlings, it might help to pinch out the growth points at the end of each stem so it briefly slows vertical growth, which would otherwise create more need for water. In that heat, newly planted seedlings might slump over a bit, until they establish a root system which has reached into the surrounding soil. Planting on overcast days, when rain is forcast later, or the next day is a big help too. Pinching back also encourages single stems to sprout new growth along the stems, which results in a bushier plant with the potential of more stems which is how to produce more flowers. Those lavender flowers and pink yarrow must've made some lovely bouquets. 💜

It says online not to cut into the woody stock of lavender to prune but then I moved to my current house I had a lavender patch that was overgrown and looked terrible I cut it back hard into the woody stems and it grew back and now every year I just cut it back hard and keep it in check. So it works.

May I respectfully ask a financial question… I don’t understand why finances seem to be as issue regarding a better home on the farm. Obviously I don’t know the financial situation with Bri’s house that her brother gave her… but I see how many subscribers you have and I see other you tubers who have less subscribers who appear to living very financially secure lives.
