2:45 My mom used to roast the zucchini, them mash it up and add plain yogurt, garlic, fresh mint (all chopped) salt and olive oil. It's a delicious refreshing dip to eat anytime. It refrigerates well for couple of days only because of the dairy expiration lifecycle.

This is incredible. I just purchased acreage in Central America to do exactly this. GROW MY OWN FOOD! I'm super excited and can't wait. The property already has 13 mango trees, 3 coconut palms, breadfruit, starfruit, wild bananas, plantain, 1 avocado tree, surname cherry, plums and a few others producing. Thank you for the videos and continue inspiring us all.

Love to see her share her knowledge with young people. One thing they never teach is how to be self sufficient and growing your own food. Can't have that. Lol I never understood manicured lawns with just grass. Wouldn't you like to walk out into a living productive environment that benefits everyone. Instead go to work pay your bills and consume consume consume.

I love the level of committment to growing food that she is demonstrating. Walking her talk very strongly. I hope to do as well as her in my efforts. I work as a gardener but growing food while caring for the soil is my passion. Dedicated to buying a patch of raw land and making gardens and planting many fruit ut trees and bushes. Annual veggies are wonderful, but woody perennials and self-seeding annuals should be the real foundation of a food system. I love the way trees grow stronger over time, more abundant. Eventually declining, of course, like anything but they sure produce a ridiculous amount of abundance in the process. I see the garden bed itself as the equivalent to the scope of a tree lifetime. If properly cared for with blankets of mulch and living plants, a garden bed can become a sort of superorganism.

Yes we have squirrels and blue jays that also love my hazelnuts. I pick early every morning until I have enough supply for the year and then I let the squirrels and jays enjoy them too. My friends all pick some as well. There are tons of nuts in 3 big old trees.

how do you keep deer from eating everything? and birds eatting your berries?
@barbaramindell4712Ай бұрын
Everything is fenced. Fences were made before we put in garden beds. You learn this from past experiences. My first garden on a previous property all got eaten by the deer. Fences first.

I wonder what she uses to keep the slugs from destroying her garden? I fight all year long with the slugs. As soon as something takes off and is healthy the slugs destroys it over night.
@louise22092 ай бұрын
It could be that the ecology in her garden is so balanced that she has minimal slug issues with plenty of slug predators helping her out 😊. I have a way to go before I achieve anything like that!
