Just a thought, she should re-enroll at the university as an undergraduate student, she can declare a major that is not related to her original undergraduate degree and potentially qualify for financial aid.

I agree with Dr. Gray, why spend thousands of dollars for SMP program when you can just do your own post bac method (taking individuals courses) instead. U.C Berkely Extension offers individual online classes that you can take.

Decided to start this path of getting into med school about June last year. Only 3 classes away from my bachelors and I feel in the same place as her. Any advice on finding a mentor so I’m not so lost or what the name of the book she mentioned is called

I’m new to being premed. If a student decides or needs to do a post bacc, what kind of post bacc classes are they taking or what are they getting their post bacc in? Thank you :)

If you are new to being a premed then the only thing you really need to know is to get good grades now so that you don’t have to do a post bacc in the first place.

@@vylime A post bacc can be a formal or informal group of classes meant to raise your grades in the core pre-med science classes.

@@vylime oftentimes they are done by people who haven't finished the coursework they need, so it includes classes like biochemistry, organic chemistry, physics, high level bio classes, high level chemistry classes, calculus. Etc.
