Some of us Australians know its her Birthday in April and why is it celebrated in June? The Government decided when she became the Queen to have it in June because of Anzac Day 25th April and Easter falling in April most of the time, they decided that April had too many holidays. We use to have a holiday on the Kings Birthday but that was before my time and the decision on the Queen was before my time also but held in June since 1788 in Australia when the first fleet landed in Sydney but is more known back then as the King of Great Britain - Monarch's Birthday, so that goes for all Kings and Queens they have it will be on the same day. That was decided after King George iV died to remain that day forever. lol But I know the history of it and I am not even from an Australian background.

Queens Birthday is the day off because we're all supposed to be taking gifts to her. They give every Commonwealth country their own date to gift because there were too many gifters to receive in one day. Basically it's monarch tax day and every citizen was expected to give. Kind of wicked to mention it really. 😅

The reason is for convenience of the public. Her widely celebrated birthday was selected for a time of year with better weather conditions and such since there tends to be a lot of outdoor festivities involved with it, especially on big, important birthdays like her diamond jubilee. There are parades, enormous crowd gatherings, etc. They don't want the public suffering ill weather while celebrating.
