My mother came to Canada from Holland after the war. She would take regular flat washcloths and sew up the edges to make the little wash mittens. I grew up with those as well! I really appreciate how there is a core group of cleaners, who are all my favourites by the way, including yourself, who support and give shout outs to one another. It’s such a nice community. And I’m not sure that one of you is a better cleaner than the other, but it is true that Barbie, gets the most , challenging cleans and does not back off for anything! I call her the warrior.

Coline, in Germany I love to use my Waschhandschuh (=wash mitt) too. Even for a in-between refreshing moment when there's no/no time for a shower 🚿 it's amazing. I also love to use it for my face cleaning after a hot day and taking sun lotion off. You can even get those made out of fiber cloth for dusting or even special ones for cleaning a car made of a different fiber cloth. I completely agree with you on the monthly award for Barbie, I can't imagine how many garbage bags she needs to get all trash out of the apartment... Mack did an amazing job with his newest video published today as well. He's a cleaning hero with 500k subscribers 👍 Not forgetting Bonnie who brought Mira into my KZbin life 😁. Here in Germany we also have "Waschlappen" ... 😊! I don't use it for myself, but i used it for my mom's personal care when she was in need of care! In this case they're pretty handy and after using you wash it and they're ready to go! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I just watched I think vid 2 of that apartment. I too called her the queen of clean. I asked her about the health of the cat. I cannot believe people (and a child) are living in those conditions. Ouch, what an ackward bathroom floor with that huge lip! That was an amazing job tossing out all the junk, sorting those very dirty clothes and cleaning everything! I wish I heard this last week about the cleaning grout with natural stone! Haha, I ruined my dark marble shower floor last week. Luckily I was able to use a de-etcher and then some sealer and it looks back to normal.

My advice to that young woman, having been there myself; go to Dr. Ken Berry's YT channel and look up a video titled "A diet for depression and anxiety"? Watch the video AND read the comments. Doing so LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE!!! I spent over 50 years with severe "untreatable" depression and poor overall health, despite following FDA guidelines. No more! I'm healthier than ever thanks to the changes suggested in that video. If she can start in her teens or early adulthood, she'll have an amazing life ahead of her!

It is not possible in homes like this during the major cleaning session. The cleaner is already giving up so much of their time to clean for free. Recycling would take too long and most of the stuff to recycle would be contaminated with other things anyway. There is definitely no time to wash the items for recycling before putting them out. In daily life, yes to the homeowner or tenant recycling, but for cleaning jobs like this it is unrealistic. For the same reason the cleaners don't donate items, because everything is contaminated, there are usually infestations of rodents or insects or mould in properties in this state.
