I tweeted Sheryl & told her that I was a CC fan but was also a longtime fan of hers & that she lost my respect with her hatred & jealousy of CC. A Reese fan said I’m just saying that because I’m racist & because I don’t like black women. So I was like “But I am a black woman.” And then Sheryl had enough of that & BLOCKED me. Weak ass….

I get some of what swoopes is saying. I get some of the hate towards Clark. One big was when in college people called Reese all kinds of names when doing the you can't see me. Yet people didn't say one thing about Clark doing it to every team up until lsu. People say stats show Clark was better than Reese. Where exactly does it show that. Clark averaged under 19 points a game roughly. Reese averaged just under 15 ppg. Reese averaged over 13 rebounds per game. Clark averaged over 7 assist a game. That is very impressive. Clark's individual stats were very impressive. Her 19 assist a game, that Is a big wow. However, a team sport. Both had one category the baller out on and both had very averag stats involving their second biggest category and wasn't good at the rest. Clark will do all this and have 0 championships same as in college. Reese has her chip.

In my time I saw Kareem and Dr J pass the torch to Magic and Bird, then I saw Magic and Bird pass the torch to MJ, then MJ passed the torch to Kobe Shaq and Duncan, then Kobe and Shaq and Duncan to Lebron, then Lebron to Curry, so on and so forth. Each of them understands what it means to protect the business and maintain a level of mutual respect for the sake of the game. Too many of these WNBA players have no clue what it means to be a professional ambassador of the game. Too many of them have no idea what it means to protect the superstars of the game so that all of them can secure the bag. If they’re lucky, WNBA players have 10 years to make as much money as possible. Instead of embracing Caitlin and securing financial success for themselves and future WNBA generations, these petty ass women prefer to watch the league continue to struggle. Women love to complain about the patriarchy but the only true enemy of women is other women.

Even her teammates didn't do or say anything to back her up. Even Jackie Robinson had Pee Wee Reese stick up for him. All she wants to do is play the game. I'm glad she's leaving the weak ass WNBA. 💯 You're so right. Swoopes has and wll gain more notoriety as a CC22 hater, and now she'll reap more money off of this role too. What is confusing is that she has as you point out disrespected herself by doing this and looks really immature and ignorant in her approach, while Bayless, often a butthead, uses statistical analysis and some kind of valid reasoning and a lot less blatant lying. She's not masking her hatred or even trying to which makes her look more hateful and dumb. Skip made millions being a parasitic critic and she's okay doing it too because she feels slighted as Clark is loved and put the W on the map. How many women resent and hate the prom queen? Swoopes is just another one. Great analysis!🏆🎉

One thing about the drama surrounding Caitlin is it feels like she has to lower her shine to keep any sense of peace. Her phenomenal passing is one way she can sorta take a back seat, but you can tell that her coach doesn't draw up plays for her to be the hero. Nike doesn't want to promote her over Aja because it's bad optics to have Caitlin be the face of the WNBA over the multiple time MVP and champion. The WNBA also makes this mistake and it is one the NBA did not when it came to a generational talent like Lebron. The parallel to Caitlin Clark and Aja Wilson in NBA terms would be young Lebron and Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan was a MVP twice at the start of Lebrons career and a NBA champion and I believe defensive player of the year or that caliber of defender. He was the most fundamentally sound PF ever and I'd argue he's the best at his position. However, his game did not bring the money Lebron in his rookie year would bring. Who did the prop up? Lebron and it was glaringly obvious they promoted the "Chosen One." The WNBA needs to just embrace Caitlin and make the vets take a backseat because like Charles Barkley says, she's the "bus driver." If they want to grow and be taken seriously they need her more than she needs them.

The really mind boggling thing is that there are legitimate criticisms of Clark. She commits a lot of turnovers, she is not utilizing the mid range game much and above all she is a bad defender, though at least she is a good rebounder, shot blocker and ball thief for her position. Swoopes could have brought these up and would have had good arguments. But no she literally lied through her teeth over and over.

Thanks for the comprehensive timeline of pettiness. The difference between these two women is that even though they're both great BB players, CC is also a great person, and that's why the more you get to know her the more you appreciate her. Apparently, you can't say the same about Swoopes, unfortunately.

It's race we should not kid ourselves. Question: Which athlete faced more physical assaults their first year in major league sports? Was it Jackie Robinson in 1947 when he broke the color barrier in baseball? Or was it Caitlin Clak 2024 in the WNBA? I think Clark may have suffered more physical assaults than did Robinson. No disrespect intended towards Robinson and his monumental mental and emotional feat. Now, if this just stays myopically focused on the WNBA, we are not getting what we are supposed to get from this story. Before I say that please allow me to do the pathetic preamble we have to do here in America before we talk about race. I am a blend of things that are the multi in multiracial. White, black, brown, red and with a grandmother whose maiden name was Wong. I've been around since the Eisenhower presidency and all those aforementioned colors (elements) which so poorly yet succinctly describe our diversity have never been a setback for me. I understand it may have been to others; I am not taking that away from them, but I am just saying I was all those things in the supposed bad old days in a multi racial big city and in a very white small town. And the only unpleasant memories I have typically started with me being the negative catalyst to an unpleasant outcome. In early adult hood I traveled much thanks to taxpayer funding while serving in Uncle Sam's military and deploying to five continents, about 40 countries, in time frame that spanned from the Cold War to the Global War on Terror. In two branches of the military. Never once was being the combination of what I am a professional hinderance. I have had personal hinderances but largely because of my own shortcomings in personality and deed. I am most often mistaken for Arab, then Hispanic, North African or Southern Europe Mediterranean. At airports, border crossings, check points usually while I was in the Middle East proved to be sometimes stressful but manageable if I just remembered that the fellow or fellows giving me the proverbial once over have to do this multiple times in the day, and sometimes do it in a second language. And that they don't know despite my flaws and like anyone else I do have something to hide, it's just that being a terrorist is not one of the things I need to keep hidden. Okay that is out the way. I am going to observe and ask or ask and observe. Are the ladies in the WNBA exhibiting the reason why more than a few black men do not want to marry or get involved with black women? What I saw/see directed at Caitlin Clark is textbook definition of malevolent pettiness. Is this what black men have to put up with in relationships? I get it, not everyone is like that but a sizable enough seem to be and how can one tell this before getting involved in a relationship. Black men may operate under the saying, and song, "Once bitten, twice shy." Are white people wrong or right to use this Caitlin Clark issue as a forecast of how things might be once whites are a minority? If so, I don't think that is wrong, I mean what another preview could white people use to imagine what life is going to be like when they are 49% or less of the U.S. population? Well, I guess there is South Africa. But that is not the USA is it. So, thank you WNBA players we just got our first preview, and I hope to God there is another and better one. The white ladies in the WNBA who just piled on the Caitlin Clark hate or said nothing could remind one of people who just shut the shades when something unpleasant is happening to their neighbor. I wouldn't nominate any of them to be heroes during some type of ethnic focused genocide in a multi racial society. And so soon on the heels of Matt Walsh and his movie, "Am I racist?" Most of the black men in sports and sports media saw the pettiness in the WNBA early on and called it out much quicker than did whites who were nervously whistling past the graveyard watching all that craziness manifest and acting like they didn't notice. Like Sheryl Swoopes I have been caught in a lie. Let's just concentrate that we both lied and lying is not good. But that "explanation" and getting the facts so wrong about her comment explanation only made matters worse. Takes one to know one as the saying goes, Sheryl. I just recently spent more time than I cared to at an alternative school that is about 95% black. I have not led a sheltered life and like most people in America I have long had exposure that has turned into friendships with many people of various races and ethnicities and religions, and political persuasions. What I saw exhibited by many of the black young ladies or soon to be ladies seemed very much like what the whole world just got to witness when the players in the WNBA were just, as the saying goes, themselves. Ladies of the WNBA grow up. The fact that Caitlin Clark was the catalyst that could turn into more WNBA exposure, fame, and FORTUNE, means the dollar is not the bottom line for you, (which in any other situation might be a good thing) but that you are so beholden to an easily provoked racial philosophy that for anyone white, black, brown, red, yellow is just a self-absorbed fantasy that leads to a dead end. A dead end that one is not always duped to but instead a dead end that like one taking command of the wheel and so confidently steering oneself and others disappointedly to this dead end. The timing off this WNBA Caitlin Clark issue is revealing and is supremely stupid (remember takes one to know one) like out dumbing racist dimwits and this WNBA nonsense is going to impact the election in November.

To Stephen Smith's rant about how Swoopes knows more about basketball I respond: Does she, though? Just because she was good at bb 20 whatever years ago (i'm not going to bother looking it up idc) doesn't mean she knows anything about anything, and she has shown over and over that she either doesn't know and can't recognize what makes for good talent or is too lazy to look up the information in order to back the people she favors for personal reasons.

Just another sports fan who never spent more than a few seconds paying attention to women's sports. The olympics featuring skating, gymnastics, mostly track were amazing every four years, but the WNBA was not very compelling nor women's basketball in general at any level, it wasted my time. It was frustrating to watch as a fan, there were too many fails for it not to be.. Then something changed watching the NCAA women's finals and seeing a different game being played at a newer, faster, expertise elevated level with a phenomenal shooter I never heard of before. The whole bunch of new names I have seen introduced to MY awareness seemed to have no relevance except for the same name coming out to be attacked, who I would still not remember but for appearing as revolting repulsive antagonists spewing hate, jealousy, racism and gender role hypocrisy and bias. What I did not like about women's basketball suddenly had many many more reasons to not just ignore it, but to actively hate it and everybody associated with it.. Suck it WNBA, losers you all suck and wish yo mamma was better at that. I'm not alone..

There were similar arguments about home run records when players started breaking Babe Ruth's record. Then there's the pole vault. Pole vaulters when I was young were using steel poles, and there seemed to be a limit to how high anyone could go. Then along came flexible fiberglass poles and suddenly everybody was shattering the former (steel pole) record. Now they use carbon fiber poles and, again, it's a different ball game. Records are made to be broken, and Ms. Swoopes just can't deal with that.

I wanna say this , CC doesn't complain much, it SEEMS. thats what gives her a great mentality. I'm sure she'll get better. I'm not sure if Sheryl is racist. But i think the convo will be there for a while! bc I don't see black girls taking pics or asking for autographs fron CC. sometimes its just environment, but its not something that happens much in NBA. But i do think theres not many amazing white guys in the NBA. So yeah. I just like equality on both sides of life. I don't think its about CC being straight tho. But it does seem theres quite some lesbians in WNBA. THATS NEITHER HERE NOR THERE really.

I think it is generally considered more accepted in women's sports that there are same-sex relationships. Plenty in field hockey, or soccer, or volleyball. I know of a married couple that played against each other for world championship (Brazilian and Dutch). Really, not such a big deal, in the bigger picture of 8+ billion people on this planet (per 2024). You can be sure there's closet gays in male sports too - but since machismo is such a big thing you can expect them to stay in that closet because in general males are such snowflakes when it comes to their sexuality it's almost ridiculous.

She cried like a baby when she didn't get the MVP last year. She's a MANUFACTURED MVP! Where's Aja's "value"? Catlin's put butts in seats, private transportation, billion dollar media deal, viewership up, merch sales up, etc. WMBA watch parties in Africa and Iceland to watch Catlin! Aja hasn't done none of that! Her team is actually WORST with Aja on the court; Fever better with Catlin on the court. She hasn't elevated her team, teammates or her franchise.
