I don't think that this is during _Shang-Chi_ ... I thought the same thing, too; I thought the cage fight with Wong had happened on the same day, but in the post-credits of that movie, Bruce is still on Earth, in human form, his arm still in a sling. Which means this is after all of that. So I think it's just that the footage of the fight has leaked online, and it's important now since Blonsky is eligible for parole yet there's proof that he is being released periodically from prison

There has to be some time lapse from when the underground fight club happened and when the video was released. At the end of that movie, Bruce had not had the accident with Jennifer yet.

It was illegal underground fight club (underground part is metaphorical only for obvious reasons xD) so it probably is, that people werent allowed to take videos of these fights. It makes sense it would come up to the public after a while and I hope they adress it. Its major continuity error otherwise and marvel in mcu didnt have those yet :P

@@lanewaldon6450 haven't really noticed his helmet anywhere in the beach house, but even if it is there - it's such a minor, unnoticeable detail to anybody except for those who dissect every pixel that to base the timeline predictions on it would be ridiculous. Bruce's arm is a much more reliable indicator... Plus, I'm pretty sure that after Sakaar we will see a very different Bruce/Hulk😁

I loved the MCU references in this episode and show so far. They explained what happened with Abomination after the fight scene in Shang-Chi. And now that you mentioned this.... Maybe the Bruce in the post credit is a Scrull because this is post movie and Bruce is in space, in Hulk form and with his arm completely healed...

I don't think the club fight takes place during she hulk. The reason is because during the post credit scenes of shang chi, Bruce Banner's hand wasn't healed and he was in human form.

We know this is taking place post-Shang Chi because in the Shang Chi end credits, Bruce was wearing his prototype device that kept him human (so also highly unlikely he was a Skrull). We also know that this is taking place post-Eternals because when Jen was on her laptop looking at that "10 Offbeat Jobs For a Fresh Start" article, there was an article title off to the right that said "Why there is a giant statue of a man sticking out of the ocean", right above that was an article title "Man fights with metal claws in bar brawl".

After Shang-Chi - the clip of the Abomination cage fight has just shown up on "KZbin" but it's months later. Bruce in human form - with his still injured arm - is at the end of Shang-Chi so before the accident that turned Jen into She-Hulk

The connective tissue isn’t quite as you imagine. But it isn’t far off. Banner, at the end of Shang-Chi, still had his arm in a cast, and he was wearing the regulator to help it heal. So… that scene explicitly took place before the first episode of She-Hulk (wherein Bruce used a sample of Jen’s blood to heal his arm, and stopped using the regulator). The abomination “prison break” was thus either a new fight, or it took a few weeks for that footage to leak. Could go either way - I think the original scene ended with a “see you next week?” as Wong dropped him off again. (But also, that’s probably reused footage from the movie, regardless what timeframe it represents, because why render a second fight?)

I'm so glad you mentioned how short the episode was. While the first episode was only 37 minutes long, it seemed really chock full of information. This second episode...I watched it three times and at the end of each watching I STILL felt like it was too short. I agree; the actors are great together and I couldn't help but think the director could have let She-Hulk and her paralegal improvise for five or more minutes to fill the episode out more. It was a good episode, but it felt more like a snack.

Two different ways the Hulk going to Sakaar can go that are in the comics: World War Hulk, long rumored to be coming to the MCU, and/or Hulk's SON *from* his time on Sakaar, Skaar. Alternatively, there were things from Sakaar at his Mexican beach home--like his battle arena helmet--that he did not take with him in Thor: Ragnarok, so this would not be the first time he's going back there. Maybe he's doing occasional fights. Maybe he's helping them with some scientific issue.

I think it's set AFTER Shang-Chi. The footage is from Shang-Chi but I'm guessing it's old footage that's just come to light, because the mid-credit scene (which is very clearly set after main events of the film) features Bruce in human form with his arm still messed up. But his arm was fixed in the previous episode, in flashbacks. So we're after the events in the film but the footage is just showing up.

I'm loving the writing, but I do find myself wondering whether this will turn into the 30-minutes-Marvel-star-cameo show. We've had Hulk and Abomination, we know we'll be getting Wong soon, and there was also that teaser shot of Daredevil/Matt Murdock so we know that Jennifer will at some point be headed to New York. At that point, we might well also end up with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, or Spider-Man tie-ins -- but probably not Kamala Khan, since she presumably got bodyswapped out to wherever Carol Danvers had previously been.

The cast: Seeing Mark Linn Baker from Perfect Stranges (Larry) as Jen's father Morris was a surprise. I hadn't read any articles beforehand that he would be in the show. Jen being fired by the DA and then hired by Holliway is straight from She-Hulk (2004) #1 and #2 by Dan Slott. Even the DA is balding in both versions! Differences are that in the comics, Jen had to stay as Jen unless she absolutely needed to Hulk out. When Holliway met Jen in her favorite bar she was Hulked out so when she changed back to Jen she got instantly inebriated, them barfed all over him! Also, Pug gets a crush on Jen later on, we'll see if the show will follow suit. Yes, Dennis Bukowski is indeed being a jerk to Jen just as he was in the comics. Unfortunately his well-intentioned actions had tragic consequences for one supporting character. Blonsky's 7 soulmates could be the other villains we saw in various trailers and previews. So far there's Porcupine, Man Bull, and Matador, so that leaves four more.

I love the first episode as an origin story but this feels like the REAL first episode of the Lawyer Show that Jen promised. I was worried that Jen was ONLY hired because she is the She-Hulk but Holloway seemed genuine when he said that she laid out a winning case against them even before the mistrial, and a law firm this big wouldn’t risk hiring anyone less than a great lawyer even with the publicity they bring, because if they sucked as a lawyer that makes them look bad. Also I freaking love that they got Tim Roth back as Emil/Abomination. He does feel like he is putting on a con, but he does genuinely seem somewhat reformed. But I’m certain this is all Contessa Valentina trying to get him into the Thunderbolts.

From the masterclass in era-hopping that was WandaVision, to the pitch-perfect teen/family dramedy of Ms. Marvel, & now we get “Ali McBeal as a superhero, with side characters that feel like they were created by Always Sunny writers playing with an Arrow script.”?!?! We do see the agenda on there using Jen as a side show as a attraction because they hire her because she is she hulk not because of her skills as a lawyer. we also see that this is a blessing and a curse much like the reference to Tobey Maguire Spider-Man a gift and a curse because of the powers. I also can tell that there is an agenda somewhat the guy makes a reference to objectifying women calling that woman that he’s going to talk to an it.
