She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is a supposed comedy with the rather unique twist of not having any jokes in it. Featuring a character that is supposed to be a perfect hero, yet acts like a selfish villain at every turn. The Hulk is only here to be dragged down and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is obviously in for another hit! If you trust the media reviews anyway. What did you think of She-Hulk or what you saw in the review? Do you like her, is She-Hulk what you expected? Let me know your thoughts below, and as always, thanks for watching :)

You know what’s really ironic? In the original story, he *chose* to give her a blood transfusion to save her life, and he felt guilty for turning her into a Hulk, yet she didn’t blame him and even was grateful for it, loving her Hulk form. But here, he had no choice in the matter, *she* is the one who got his blood on her, not him, and yet she blames him for ruining her life because she turns into a Hulk. Between the two origins, she has even less reason to be mad at him in this one…yet she’s mad at him.😑

It's such a shame that the She-Hulk name will be forever tarnished by this show. I haven't read the comics, but from comments such as yours, comic She-Hulk sounds like such a fun character. Disney She-Hulk interacting with her cousin made me so uncomfortable. It was so abusive and angry.

The funny thing is that, at the same time as denigrating and demonising men for existing, this show also manages to replicate sexist stereotypes about women, despite being written by women. In episode one alone, She Hulk has been demonstrated to be a recklessly inattentive driver (stereotype number 1), to be weirdly obsessed with gossiping about the sex lives of other people (stereotype number 2), to be paranoid about the supposed inherent threat of men who haven't even done anything to her (stereotype number 3), to handle difficult situations by eating her emotions (stereotype number 4), to lack the emotional maturity and rationality of mind to be able to take any advice or even the mildest of criticism from any man under any circumstances (stereotype number 5), to be so self involved that she will constantly hold up her experience as a woman as the greatest injustice ever to befall anyone even when speaking to someone who has objectively suffered far more than she ever has or is ever likely to (stereotype number 6), and in the courtroom scene at the end of the episode, a crisis situation, she is depicted as being so selfish and shallow that she is more concerned with her outfit and her shoes than helping people whose lives are in danger (stereotype number 7). I think a solid case could be made that She Hulk episode one might be the single most misogynistic episode of modern television, and is certainly the most misogynistic thing in the MCU so far, and yet the writers are so spectacularly, epically clueless that they don't even realise the implications of what they have written.

I honestly cannot believe this isn't a parody, or that the writers could believe she's a positive character, even a hero, exactly as is from minute 1. It's insane that they do not realize how insufferable, how disgusting, how selfish, even evil, she is in this. How can any sane person believe she's anything but a terrible human being? On top of all the other problems, this is....just...I mean, wow. Some of the most inspiring character growth shown in movies (Tony Stark) in the last 40 years from the same company that thought this was a great, heroic human being? It's actually incredibly funny how after she hulks-out in the laboratory setting and, very unnecessarily destroys a lot of equipment and infrastructure of her caring and attentive and very-worried cousin - doing all of this with full awareness of her actions and an idea of the consequences - she decides that she doesn't actually *need* her cousin's help, because she can, clearly, handle her situation and her power, use it well and totally bypass any and all wisdom or advice Bruce might have for her. She hulked out and proceeded to cause damage in the millions-of-dollars and thinks that there's nothing wrong with her or how she decides to handle things.

You know, I've been a human female for about 46 years now, and I gotta say, the most common reaction from the males of the species when they encounter a female in some sort of (even just possibly) distress, is to try to help. Another shocking thing I've learned is that some humans can be asses, or even dangerous, or sometimes you're just feeling vulnerable. And the most common, and rational, response to this, is to get to safety. You know, like a place with other people and lights and phones. Never once in my decades on this planet have I chosen to move away from a safer place and toward a darker, more isolated place, in a circumstance where I felt concerned for my safety. To sum up, the people writing this don't know how to human, don't understand human nature, and don't have the talent or the skills required to sell this distorted misunderstanding of humanity to the audience as in any way resembling a realistic world inhabited by realistic humans.

When She-Hulk broke the 4th Wall in the comics it was always natural. There was no audience or camera to look in to. She's not Deadpool. Its absolute cringe for her to break the flow of the narrative to brag and worse talk directly to the audience. This is how you know the writers had no idea what they were doing. They wanted a soapbox not a story Holy shit. So giving Jen his gamma infused blood in turns not only makes her a rage monster with complete control but also heals him and her response is: "I'm better than you." Fuck this show Can I just hate I absolutely loathe this. There was a tweet about the faces. Why are we seeing a slightly CGI enhanced green Mark Ruffalo face. And worse with She Hulk. Jen Walters isn't ugly but plain which I guess they got right I guess. the actress doesn't look bad for her age I guess. But as She Hulk Jen gets - in the comics - some chiseled feature but her face still becomes softer and toned like that of a super model. She still looks natural. She's beautiful...just green. How does Disney/Marvel emulate this. They plaster the actress in make up and give her an 80s big hair do and then put the bad CGI on top of that. They way they make She Hulk look pretty. They use make up : / Instead of just having a hot actress and not Tatiyana's face The entire point of Hulk's super strength is that he can run fast but he's so strong he doesn't have RSS to stop his leg from demolishing the ground beneath him to sprint. Even the janky as movie in the early aots established this. Its why its better for him to simply jump long distances. With that in mind and literally showing that his raw strength is greater than Jen's there's no possible way she would ever be able to jump the same distance as him. Not even close actually since She Hulk physic while impressive is still no where near the Hulk's To say nothing of that stupid speech about her controlling her rage better. It's a miracle that Bruce does just yeet her into space right there. Maybe. Just maybe this argument could be made if Bruce's entire problem when it comes to rage was the Hulk. Jen has and will never have this problem. She can just become super big and strong and remain in control of herself. The worst part about this. Ever since the 'flashback' began Bruce has been nothing but patient wit her. He's never raised his voice or insulted her and worst he ever did was one up her in a game of rock throwing and tackle her - the later of which was to save her from murdering a random stranger. Lets say I don't know what the M She U is. I believe any normie watching this would wonder why Jen is such an irrational and condescending bitch to her cousin who has only been trying to help her. A reminder that this is Jen's cousin. Her family. She belittles his entire struggles, his friends, his life, and doubles down on his misery to slight him. Many people are saying she's justified because its wrong of Bruce to push his traumatic life style on to her. Even though she makes light of it...and still never gets that he's doing everything he can to prevent that. The apology/non apology Jen gives Bruce. Here's the level of writing we're dealing with. Before the MCU went full on Whedon remember when characters talked to each other. As a nuclear physicist, biochemist, radiophysicist, engineerer, roboticist, computer scientist and mathematician Bruce wouldn't be the best individual on a social level. And yet he's able to speak and conduct himself like a normal as human. Even the whole Cheetos thing funny enough came off as a condescending bone toss to Jen. The kind of thing you say to family to be nice. when the reality is in all seriousness its really stupid and I'm just humoring this. And Jen takes credit. "You're not the only smart one in the family" to a guy with 7 Ph.D who literally help to invent revolutionary AI and time travel. Watch as this small time ass lawyer screams whines and overreacts like a petulant child despite being in a field where communication, empathy, and morality are incredibly important.

I'm sad they dropped the most interesting part of comics She-Hulk. In the comics, she still has a toxic relationship with her hulk form, but it's inverted for her. Jen Walters was a meek, mousey, nervous wreck. Once she becomes She-Hulk, she revels in becoming an invincible 7ft tall supermodel to the point that she refuses to turn back if at all possible. Her form is powered by her fear of returning to how she used to be.

Fun fact. in the Comics, the first fight between She-hulk and Titania ends with She-hulk being soundly thrashed by the other super-strong woman. This leads to two interesting things later on. 1-Titania is full of herself for taking down a hulk , so she tries the same towards ( the much faster and more experienced) Spider-man, and gets her @ss handed to her . She underestimates what speed and skill means in a fight , thinking it is all about strength. 2-She-hulk starts seriously training to become better at fighting , showing she can learn from her failures and that that can drive someone become better. because the Marvel Comic writers are way more skilled than the Disney Plus series writers. My hopes for Daredevil's return are withering rapidly. I was so happy that he was back, with the original cast, but, after seeing this i'm worried. Worried they will get the same caliber of writers as this series and ruin what was a very good Netflix series( one of my favorite). Well. Hawkeye was pretty okay, and so were parts of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Who knows.

Legal dramas (and legal comedies) are usually an opportunity for the writers or showrunners to flex their muscle with snappy one-liners, solid arguments and sharp cases that have you wondering whether the attorney's and/or defendant's behavior is justified. Law and Order has made it their bread and butter for three decades. David E.Kelley rode to a career high with the 1-2-3 punch of Ally McBeal, The Practice and Boston Legal. Hell, within the MCU itself, Daredevil had entire episodes where the trial of certain characters took centre stage and had neat subversions of the tropes associated with the genre. What is likely happening is that Disney/Marvel are cheaping out in the writers' rooms and hiring talent on the cheap, who either have no experience with the genre or are newbie writers with few-to-no other credits to their name.

Youre supposed to think all her future cases would be deemed mistrial, but in reality it would only be a problem if she saved the life of every jury member ever to enter court in the future. Unless theyre saying her being a superhero will make people trust her more. But is that really any different than maybe a well known lawyer on a case.

The difference between MCU and Comics. Hulk: Saved her by donating his blood, she is a caring person who sacrifices to save others. She-Hulk: Was near Bruce when he got injured - this ignores all canon, as Bruce put a gun in his mouth and shot himself. Being harmed by a car accident and leaking radioactive blood that somehow doesn't kill everyone near him, then gives them powers, is insane. This would make him a liability in every single place. Ok so here's the thing. The only reason She-hulk works in the comics is because she does have a different experience to Hulk/Bruce. From what I know she's supposed to be quite meek in her human form and very bad with social interactions. In this show there is no difference between her hulk form and human form. In her human form she doesn't have the bad traits she should have. She's good at socialising and is anything but meek. While she-hulk does have greater control than normal hulk. She should still have a different personality in her hulk form to her human form. People think they're the same person but that's wrong. Extra notes : When she gets badly injured in a car accident and Bruce saves her life with a blood transfusion. He is devastated that he had to do it. He had no choice but to turn her into what he views as a monster. He knows people are going to fear her and possibly try to kill her or use her. If he had any other choice he would have never done it. The problem is that in the MCU the Hulk is dead. All we have left is Bruce in Hulk's body and so this story falls flat as we no longer have the dynamic between Bruce and Hulk. Bruce has basically got rid of his worst enemy and greatest fear. She-hulk in the comics is far more confident in her hulk form and loves/embraces her new form. She loves the confidence it provides so much that she rarely reverts back to being human. Bruce should be different with never wanting to transform as he knows that Hulk could do great harm. The MCU has butchered Bruce and Hulk so badly it's not even funny.

And they could've done the more melded version of hulk and bruce like what professor hulk is in the comics and the contrast with savage she hulk and the professor teaching her how to read and write with it having a comedic levity after the more punching sad scene of turning her into a hulk. They could've covered all this in the first two episodes with hulk showing jen that it isn't so bad if you don't treat it like a disease but as a friend. Have a mindscape scene with jen and she-hulk learning to work together and have her as the more confident and sexy she-hulk for the next 8 episodes. This could've been good but they killed the hulk and don't understand she-hulk.

Watching this back, I thought of a better way they could have done the car crash scene. Instead of Jen getting out no worse for wear, both she and Bruce are horribly injured and are dying. Jen, knowing shes about to die, makes a heroic, selfless and ultimately brilliant effort to pull Bruce's Hulk suppressant bracelet off, saving him as he Hulks out. Then they could continue with the comics origin of Bruce giving her a transfusion out of necessity. This small scene shows that Jen can be valiantly heroic and also very smart and quick to think on her feet when the stakes are high. And it pleases both modern and comic book fans as the reason she and Bruce survived is through their combined efforts.

Okay, this show already seemed incredibly insufferable, and there was no way on earth I was going to watch it. But then the writers decide to bring in Titania, who I've always liked as a villain. She's got a huge chip on her shoulder and has gone head to head with Jen in the comics repeatedly over the years. And Jen generally wins by outsmarting her, because Titania is stronger than she is. In the comics it literally took Jen getting her hands on the Power infinity stone to beat her in a pure physical fight. And yet in this she knocks her out in one freaking punch? Yeah, screw this show.

You know, I don't believe I'm about to say it, but the whole part about Cap being a virgin could've been used to strengthen the theme, had it be done by a talented writer. An argument could be made that once Steve Roger became the super soldier, he was gone. All that was left was Captain America - a soldier for life, bound by duty, with no time for pleasures of his humanity. Same with Bruce - once Hulk became a thing, Bruce Banner was gone - After all, Bruce is actively hiding from humanity, worried he might hurt someone by accident (which have happened, curtesy of Wanda Maximoff and other things). It gotten so bad he tried to end his life, but Hulk wouldn't let him. A talented writer could make it so that this iteriation of Jennifer knows well that becoming a superhero has mostly dropoffs, with barely any pros - having to part with normal, calm live, that has it's downsides, but also upsides. Hence, why she desperately wants to be her normal self, not a superhero. But no. No. Instead, they opted out to make it a "joke". A joke that not only speaks poorly about Jennifer, but I have a sneaking suspicion also was a way to tear down Steve Rogers. Because that's all MCU has been doing - tearing down the past, simply in order to elevate themselves.

That "Oh, because I'm _better_ than you" line has absolutely NO excuse existing in any way regarding Bruce Banner in that context, are you FUCKING kidding me?? Back when this episode came out I still held onto hope that it's (and most everything else in the episode) set up for her learning to appreciate what her cousin went through and that she has the Hulk experience on easy mode. Learning to recognize and understand your own privileged position even in a tragedy would have been one hell of a feminist story I wanted to appreciate so much, but no?? They really had Jen hear her cousin, who is incredibly excited and relieved to for the first time having someone like him by his side, say that he fixed his arm through her DNA and she said "Oh, because I'm BETTER than you?" Who the FUCK says that to another person who for so many years was the only one "of his kind" in his dangerous body mutation and who now finally had a chance of physically and MEDICALLY helping himself? And she crushes him by saying that the only reason he now has ANY help is because her body mutation is BETTER than his?? How arrogant and self-centered do you have to be to say THAT to a long suffering person? Sorry, but the fucking implications of this line are so many levels of ableist, victim-blaming and just straight up sexist. Do "feminist" writers _know_ that their self-important "empowerment one-liners do exist within actual CONTEXT of a story?? That's the worst shit I've ever heard, in hindsight, how _fucking DARE you???!_ That was the arm that got badly injured in the process of Bruce as Smart Hulk using the infinity gauntlet to snap back the 50% of the population of ALL EXISTENCE who were gone for 5 years! The snap he was only able to survive *because* destiny screwed him over so hard but he pulled through despite of it and for the first time it felt like all the horrible suffering and torture in his life actually had a purpose! And she says "I'm BETTER than you" as some self-important woke clap-back because this writing is too modern feminist to respect that feminism needs to be _adjusted_ to each individual situation you find yourself in. I never actually realized how abysmally AWFUL that line is! _How DARE you??_

I seriously feel that Hollywood (which is controlled and run by Oligarchy males) are taking groups of people (women/African-americans/Gays/Asians/Latino/Etc) who have and are dealing with oppressive realities and creating irrational and irritating stories to get ordinary people to further despise them and their efforts and legitimate Issues. They make women appear to be way over the top with their attitudes towards men (while portraying men as pathetic beings). There are countless examples where African/African-americans/etc) are in curious positions (Heimdall/Valkyrie Blacks in Norse mythology is nonexistent) without a back story, thus giving an appearance that they were unjustly awarded a position without merit. As an individual who as spent most of my life as a left-wing advocate for African, African-american, Women, etc, I see these tactics as purposely damaging... and an evil genius agenda to keep people divided which allows a continuous oligarchy control... ijs

She refuses because she's so chill. She goes back to lawyering and she hulks out and destroys the courthouse and city and wakes up as Shield arrests her. She's in a fancy ass jail. Bruce goes to visit her but she's upset and refuses to listen to Bruce tell her that he told her so. So he leaves her be in prison. Then shield guy whoever comes around and says "hey I'll let you be a lawyer again if you become the first lawyer for super heros." So then she reluctantly joins Bruce. At its core, there is nothing wrong with Jen not wanting to be a hero , and wanting to go back to her " normal" life( There are plenty of heroes on Earth in this universe that can do the job without her adding one more green body to the fight) . That would be, if they did not start the episode with her talking about how those with power have a responsibility to use it for others and the fact that she was willing to sue someone over that issue. meaning not only does she think that people SHOULD do good with their powers, but that the rest of society should have the power to FORCE them to do so. or pay a price for not doing so. One issue that was not pointed to in this review is how Jen goes through her rant about how she cannot show any anger because, as a woman, she would suffer the wrath of the patriarchy ( called difficult or ...be murdered( ignoring that almost 80% of murder victims are male)), when the episode opened with her paralegal dressing down a man, one with a superior position at the law firm she is employed at, and her doing this could get her fired, and in fact, directly insults him, with zero repercussions. No firing. No suspension.. No talking to from the boss. Not even a " You are being insubordinate" from the jerky male lawyer. Nothing. But Jen is afraid of bad things happening if she shows any anger. This shows that its all in her head, or , at least, it mostly is. This series is young, and, maybe that is where they are going. That most of Jen's issues are in her own head with her warped perceptions of the world and her own superiority/inferiority . My hopes are not high though. These writers do not seem that clever. i did think that, during their fight, Bruce was going easy on her. Him holding her back with one hand looked like an adult holding back a flailing child, I thought he was showing her restraint and letting her wear out her anger. Then she Showed him up with the thunder clap assault that hurt him more than just about any attack( short of Thanos) that he has faced in a dozen movies. So, then I wasn't sure what they were getting at. Which, really is my response to most of the show, so far. What are they getting at?

She doesn't even turn in to a Hulk. She turns in to a Ruffahulk. Some sort of human-hulk abortion. If she turned in to a real Hulk then there would be drama. She could possibly be more powerful than Ruffahulk and uncontrollable. Instead we're given a woman who turns green when on her period. I've got better things to waste my time watching. Where's my box set of Sex and the City...

Just what everyone wanted to see: A middle aged woman who gets extra emotional on her period and turns green.

They took out the things that that make Hulk a good character and just made She-hulk a better hulk. Thus, all the fun and intrigue has already left the series.

That is probably the only part where this show is close to the source material. She-hulk just became a big muscular green woman, not a full hulk. Until very recent comics that is

6:52 Fun fact: during this scene the lines that Banner speaks "Don't Jen, I'm bleeding" are added in post and Truffleo's lips don't even move.

Imagine. In that court room scene. If everyone died and she lost and realized that she was wrong and she needs help ... That would be interesting.

Just the changing of how she aquires the Hulk powers is a spit in the face and intentionally done to avoid inhereting the powers from a man and saving her life. Ironic it plays off the women are bad drivers trope. But the believability of the whole scene is hilarious. They had to armor the plot to prevent Bruce (Who is in full control of the Hulk by this point) from Hulking out when he would have at this point, it literally makes zero sense. Good god, this whole thing is painfully preachy. "I'm better than you. You're nothing compared to me. I'm better at this than you. Better, better, better." Good god, why do they have to write her as borderline villianous bitch?

The fact that they literally changed her origin of getting powers only for her to be the savior says a lot about this show. Literally, Bruce gives his blood to get after she gets in the hospital with big injury, and saves her live. While here, they show that after a car crash, she herself saves Bruce, and accidently gets his drops of blood. I don't think Bruce blood works like disease, but if it is I think she needs a lot more the couple of drops.

They have to make the women in these shows heinously unlikable so that when you say you hate female leads (meaning how they are written) their warped world view about the so called patriarchy can feel vindicated.

The did the same thing with Catpain Marvel. It's inconceivable that she gets her powers from a man like in the comics. So instead everyone she respects is turned into a woman and she gets her powers from an accident. An accident from the experiments of a genius woman.

Honestly the only saving grace for this show would be in the final episode if hulk becomes not smart hulk and just ragdolls her. Just constantly beating the green blood out of her. That would make it all worth while
