At six-figures and losing her married write-offs, like her husband's business, and maybe mortgage interest and home office expenses as well, she probably got a huge bump in tax liability when she walked away from her marriage. I earn six-figures, am single, and have no write-offs to speak of. I take home about half of what I earn a year after taxes, insurance, and retirement savings, near half is what the government keeps out of my check in fed, state, fica, medicare, etc. If I had kids to support or alimony to pay, I'd be looking poor as well. I've known divorced men who made high five-figures and by the time alimony and child support were done with them, along with the marital debt, had to live in a roommate situation. Taxes when you're a single person making six-figures is no joke.

As a woman, I am looking forward to the day when it is a national law for mandatory paternity testing even if you are married before a man signs off on the birth certificate. So let me get this straight. This lady had a six figure job, and a husband who probably took a lions share of the work with the kids, to allow her to make that nice fat check in sales. She then chooses to divorce this dude, and her kids are hurt bad by it and this dude is also trying to manage his life now but obviously on a lot less money. She then complains because taking on the kids AND the debt to avoid child support and alimony was just too much? Lets be honest on what happened here my lady. You were hanging around a bunch of dudes who make way above the average salary and you looked down on your husband. This festered in you and you felt like he wasn't good enough for you, so you bailed. Next up is you are not a young hot sales lady anymore and sales gets a bit harder... You then are forced to leave. You see your husband didn't change, but you did. Guys this is a warning out there over 90% of marriages end up in divorce when the wife makes considerably more than the husband. If she has a bachelors degree or higher it goes up even more. Let that sink in... You meet a great lady and make say 70k a year, but she makes 150k a year. Your future with this woman has less than a 10% chance of working out. You must address this ASAP and talk about it. One theory is that women like to brag about their husbands and when they are around people that earn more, are perhaps in better shape and may be a bit smarter, then they start to dislike you more. Just be aware of this.

She is describing an issue that can cause problems with equitable distribution in divorces. Most small business owners grossly inflate expenses and make their profits look much less than they really are. This grossly misrepresents how much the party is making.

Except for she did his books and knew exactly what he was making. She literally describes this in the video. So in this instance your point is moot.

@SparkyJohn111 they court doesn't take testimony from the spouses regarding income. It is based on documentation. So, yes in this particular situation it is all family courts.

A feel good story to start my day. As a divorced guy I can tell you I LOVE seeing women getting a dose of reality. It’s all fun and games to them until they’re the ones forking out the cash. The best advice I can give to any guy out there is this: you may think you love them, but don’t ever trust them. PERIOD. If you think something isn’t right, you’re probably correct. Keep notes and have them ready for the eventual moment when they try to burn you.

I'm truly sorry that lady is going through what she is post divorce because it is so ugly that no one should. It's harsh and a true, heartless ass-beating and no way to defend yourself. It's like being in a boxing ring with your arms tied behind your back and there is no way to protect youself or anyone to protect you, and the fight isn't over until the other side says it is. I was impressed that she actually accepted equal responsibility for the death of her marriage. With that, I am glad she told her story and that women are finally starting to get the full experience of being a man in today's world. Be careful what you ask for ladies, you just may get it.

There is no such thing as independent women. They all rely on men 10 times a day but don't see it as that because they feel privileged. They all say that they don't need men but when the power goes out and none of them know how to fix it and get it back online and in 6 hours their cell phone is dead, they are ready to hand out blow jobs just to get the power back on.

The divorce lawyer’s story …. I’m surprised more lawyers aren’t promoting the hypothetical to their female clients. So you make more than your husband and you want a divorce. Well, he is taking half the assets and you have to pay spousal support. What, you don’t want to pay spousal support? Well then hypothetically you can avoid that if you file a ERO on the guy and don’t actually divorce. Keep your finances separate so when he is forced to leave he isn’t spending your money. Then when his day in court comes on the RO, you cry, you state ever argument you have leaves you believing for fear of your life, and he needs counseling while his issues are addressed but he needs to stay away from you till then. Hypothetically speaking, but that buys you a year or two to hide your wealth for when ge files for divorce.

Lol life is hard but it's probably harder for my husband who has to support everyone. Great man. Great father. Great hubby. Sometimes divorce is necessary but most of the time it's just a whim. Don't ruin a happy marriage because you think the grass is greener on the other side. It's probably not. Lol

Her statements are the definition of Trickle Truth: At 3:34 she says "the why doesn't matter." At 3:55 she says "the reasons for the divorce were not my fault fully. No I shouldn't say that. I'm just as much to be accountable for the divorce as him." This means there is something she doesn't want to say, something she is hiding.

If child support was even an issue that means that he got custody of the kids. Hmmm...why? Just goes to show that she isn't telling the whole story.
