+Jason Harris Although China calls itself communist, China has state capitalism. I would not be so quick to judge some guy that just posted something that is not really factually incorrect. Because Cuba is/was communist the US ended trade relations, therefore their cars are old. I'm glad the embargo is over, trade is good and will hopefully allow a beautiful place like Cuba to flourish. Also that "shitty excuse of a country" is the country where some Cubans literally risk their lives crossing to Florida for.

Here you can only see the "good" part of cuba. Luxury hotels, nice views. The reality is that the majority of cubans are very poor, surviving with 50$ per month. A new car can cost 90.000$. Food, medicines are controlled by the dictatorship. That's why so many people risk their lives trying to reach the coast of Florida on a boat.

Internet connection is a privilege for tourists, normal people don't have easy access to internet. To have a smartphone you need to have a family member living outside cuba that can send you one and pay for the roaming.

Casey, I loved your vlogs from Cuba!! I went there (it may or may not have been legally) about 30 years ago and fell in love with it, but the abject poverty was heartbreaking. I met a local, fell madly in love with him and spent 3 weeks there in Heaven. We wrote tear-stained letters to each other for a couple of years, then it...just...dropped...off.
