You can tell it's Rod Serling from the first still photo of the blurry man(the one they show to Sophie in which he appears in the film's background). You can tell he's in his trademark "hands clasped in front" stance. Nice.

Beginning: Sophie is the writer of the Twilight Zone and she wants to make Rod Sterling proud. Jordan Peele not liking the narration makes Sophie feel like she is letting down the show but just like everything else that makes her afraid or uncomfortable she runs from it. Middle: in her trying to write an episode that will be pleasing to Sterling as well as the audience she suffers a wall because she knows Sterling wants the show to encourage people to think yet the audience of today doesn’t want to think. She is running from Rod Sterling because she doesn’t recognize him and he is doing it on purpose. Ending: Once she thinks she is ok, he appears to scare her one last time and in revealing himself to her, she is now ready to be his predecessor and go into the Twilight Zone because now she is curious to face all of her fears and doubts to get to the truth making her the best writer for the Twilight Zone.

Well the fourth incarnation has since been cancelled two years ago so that one is not coming back. As of now, there is no intentions of bringing that version back of making any new version. I think the franchise has ran its course and should never come back. We got four different versions stretching back to the late 1950s. Let's just be satisfied by what we have.

It's not a half arsed idea that went nowhere, it's literally the entire point. There's no beginning, middle or end to it because that's the entire point. They wanted to show that not everything is as it seems in the Twilight Zone. I swear, people these days are dumb as hell not understanding that the entire fucking premise of the show IS THAT NOT EVERYTHING IS AS IT SEEMS. How hard is that to comprehend? That's the whole idea of the series.

episodes of the twilight zones are always bizarre. Never really a back story or proper ending or beginning, it has to be disturbing or bizarre etc. This girl is stuck in the twilight zone where nothing makes sense. When did she ended up in the twilight zone is up to our imagination, as is with all the other twilight zone episodes.

To me it feels like a story of how one enters the Twilight Zone. Its a subtle shift at first but as you enter it becomes more and more bizzare. We the viewer watching the episode feel much the same way, a start of normality only to be slipped in to the Twilight Zone. Even more fitting that the episode does a double fourth-wall break.
