People need to stop with the ash obsession. Yeah, it looks good, but not on everyone. Gold or caramel blond tones are also awesome, often easier to archive and more complementing. I prefer cool tones (my natural hair colour is "Polish blond" - medium, on the ashy side), but I've seen a lot of People pushing from natural warm colours to this fashionable cool "ashy, no brassines" tones and looking slightly ill after getting their dream colour. Embrace the warm blonds. Make them a thing again.

It really depends on your natural skin tones, and going with what your hair does naturally. For me, my skin has a hint of a yellow undertone, and in the sun, my medium brown hair has a lot of red/gold, so the warm blondes work great for me. If your skin is more pink, and your hair has a natural ash tone, whether it’s dark or light, then the cool blondes are your friend.

I was like "she knows what shes talking about" but then came the "multitone" part. I didn't know that people can take those before and after pictures so seriously and as a guide. Of course styled blonde hair is going to have some light and darker parts just because of the shadows that the strands makes, not the color itself. But she looks really good at the end! :)

I'm pretty sure some influences get their hair fixed at a salon before posting their finished look photos. If you go to a good colorist and ask for it, they will hand paint in a color or two on sections throughout your hair to give more dimension.

Also, natural hair has darker strands and lighter strands. It maybe is designed to keep those, so it ends up multi toned because it doesn't even out your natural variation. If however you bleach it all to one tone everywhere first one colour is never going to make it multi toned as you stripped all the natural tones out. My hair is natural dark blonde at the moment (it's been pretty much every colour under the sun). When I had bright red hair, it had highlights and lowlights in different bright red tones as I used it on my natural colour. If I'd bleached it first, it would have been one solid colour, rather than multidimensional. I'm guessing the multi tonal claims are based on natural hair colour as a base, not bleached or box dyed.

Thank you Hair Buddha, I have throughly enjoyed all of your videos. I am a hairstylist in NYC and another reason she had even more breakage was due to the overlapping of the hair lightener/bleach on her pre lightened roots. Her roots didn't have multiple layers of dark color like from 3" inches down and the rest of her length. She would have minimal breakage and she should have used a gloss/toner. Adding permanent color only adds to the damage. A little darker blonde shadow root would be perfect and give her a bit more time in between touchups. The color looks nice on her and she now needs to do really good hair treatments to her hair.

I think it has to do with popculture. Blond is always presented as young, fresh and bubbly. There is the quote that says "Blondes have more fun" . While dark hair is more presented as serious, calm and settled down. Also blonde is more rare than brown hair and humans always like rare (pretty) looks and they want to stand out more. (Blue eyes would be another example) I love hair when its healthy, full and shiny- no matter the color :)

My hair is wrecked, so these videos are calming me. 😂 I've had a split dye for years now. The left of my hair is natural (ginger/strawberry blonde). The right side of my hair WAS dyed black. Then I tried the baking soda removal thing (bad idea, it fried my hair!), I've tried vitamin c (made it worse), I've used 2 lots of colour remover. Now, my hair on that side is a mix of red, brown, purple, and all different shades, with natural roots. I just want my natural hair back. I used to bleach all the time (causing a lot of damage, and it took years to grow out), I can't bleach now because I'm pregnant, and I'm also really scared that the hair will fall out anyway if I tried. I have wavy/loose curly hair, it's pretty long (past my bust), and so dry and frizzy. I don't even know what to do anymore. So I'm watching these videos, to hopefully learn what not to do. (And learning about the mistakes I've already made). I want to look nice in photos with my baby. Not crazy.

Aw I'm sorry you're feeling so bad about your hair. I would really recommend a colour correction at this point, if a hairdressers is out of budget, if you have a college local to you it is likely they will do hair there, colour correction would be much more affordable and they will tell you the prices for everything up front. If you can't do that either, you could get your baby photos in black and white. For the condition of your hair I would try and work out if you need protein or moisture or both (Lots of videos about that here on KZbin) load up on that, and get a good trim. I hope any of this helps, and congratulations on your pregnancy!x
@BunBunisdundun2 жыл бұрын
You can use bleach only if it doesn’t touch the scalp/root area. That’s what I learned in school, at least. The area has to be properly ventilated, though, for health reasons. I’d recommend using highlights that don’t touch the roots to slowly get it back to your natural colour over the course of time. 💖

i recently had the neverending story on my head again and went from black to a very greyish-blond (between a 9/1 or 10/1) BUT as an ex hairdresser i know what to do and what will work or not and you can basically never say what thr end result will be because it strongly depends on how much red and yellow tones are left in the end after it got bleached. i had my hair on a chin lengths and cut of a ton (wich was the plan anyways, otherwise i wouldnt had done it). it turned out exactly how i want it to be wich im very happy about. even as a professional it can be tough sometimes to get it even and without any ugly undertones. its definitely not sonething you should do at home at all, especially never ever with box dye! she did a very good job tbh, even if she did a few mistakes she definately dont did it blind like most people would and did some research and as we all can see-if you know how it should be done and do it that way you will have a good end result.

I always hated my natural blonde, now that I'm older its gone darker. Since i only trim it twice a year and it's long enough i have to be careful not to sit on it, i only go to a professional. My hair has an golden blonde ombre on it. Sometimes I play with wash out and do the bottom 4-8 inches in a bright washout color. I don't worry about the ends. My hair being so long i can afford to cut it if i mess up. But i try to protect my mid-lengths as much as possible. I'm sometimes surprised by how many ppl will just experiment on their hair when there are plenty of professionals giving good advice online and products are easily found online as well. What I've settled on is a twice annual lightening of my hair. Rather than tonning it gold, we give it a very light yellowish tone to warm up the color. It will start to go brassy over time anyways since i go so long between processes. Its still kinda fun to wat h ppl do so much crazy stuff to their hair for a video tho. Love your channel. I’m just wondering if you could give me a bit of advice ? I’m a 62 year old Aussie lady and I bought a completely natural spray lightener called Coverluxesilk. All it done after weekly numerous overnight smelly applications is made my hair too gold / yellow ! Yuk 🤦♀️I already had blonde foils that were growing out so I thought the spray might delay a hairdresser visit . But of course ended up getting foils done because of it anyway . The problem is that she didnt use enough foils or because she uses a more natural product it still has t done the job of lightening it properly. I mentioned this to her very politely afterwards but they just don’t want to know ! After you pay them sooo much 🤦♀️I’ve been washing with the purple shampoo but it’s really not helping. Have you got any suggestions for me ? Unfortunately even if you go to the hairdressers some of them still don’t do the job properly 😕
@AbV381a2 жыл бұрын
coverluxesilk is literally the exact same thing as something we have in America called Sun In. This product is vegan but NOT natural. It has chemicals in it that can destroy hair if done the wrong way but also can chemically mess with the hair. Purple shampoo won’t make it lighter, even a permanent toner won’t give much lift. It needs more foils with bleach possibly but I don’t know the condition of your hair, it can feel great and still have the ability to snap easily. Hairdressers should check things like the elasticity and how porous your hair is before performing a service. I would suggest getting your hair to a healthier states by doing moisture treatments and protein treatments and then in a few months go back to the salon to get more highlights. I did hair for 20 years and one of the hardest things was people wanting something that wasn’t possible particularly in one session. There are products like henna that if we bleach your hair when you have henna it will give a chemical cut and just break off. Same thing with what you used it has compromised the structure of your hair and only so much can be done. I suggest getting hair healthy and going back for more once it is. Hope this helps!

Man you know whats what! Very impressed. And this lovely british lady mostly had luck in my opinion... She looks nice with her make up and curls, the hair had major damage though. This ash blond, silvery...were would it come from, if not the bleach?

I think she would look very nice with that ginger color on her roots!

What do you think about special blonde (Wella) ? It’s better than bleach?

You have made up my mind for me. I'm not going blonde for summer. I have red dye on brown hair. Would like to get the red out and have a lighter brown then highlight. What do you suggest?? I'm in for change.🤗

Nice n easy and lorelle are the BEST box coloring products. Hands down. From own years of experience. I found Garnier to be a no go.
