(On another note, I think Jess and Rory would have been perfect for each other if they got back together around the time, he had his life together.)

I don’t think he was a match for Rory. He loved and respected her, but he could never understand her or engage with her on her level. Jess could. And that’s what ultimately matters in a relationship. When you’ve been with someone for long enough, the passion and admiration disappears, and you’re left with two people who either get each other or they don’t. They wouldn’t have. Having said that, what she put him through was wrong. He was a good guy and he deserved better. But it is just a tv show 😅

Jealousy is just the fear of losing someone to someone else. And in this instance, his fear was completely justified. People bash the character for being possessive, but he was within his right to be that way. Wow reading these comments many years later, and I think everyone is forgetting they are teenagers. Teenagers do shitty things. I felt like in high school, everyone was crushing on someone new every other week. GG represents how high schoolers behave a lot better than other shows like OTH where they act very adult for their age and have loves that last forever (not that that can't happen, it's just not the norm). Rory and Jess are both behaving like high school kids. I think we as a society are so used to watching high school shows where the stakes are much higher and everyone acts and looks so much older than they are, that when a show actually portrays how real high school kids act, we're confused lol. Either way, Rory never mature, she actually regressed as she got older. But, Jess he grew up to be a stand up guy. And he had a lot more obstacles to face: shitty home life, bad mother, getting shipped off to live with his uncle, before living with Luke I assume he prob lived on the poorer side of life. While Rory had loaded grandparents, a great mom, and overall a great support besides her father. Now Dean was a great bf, I think people judge him really harshly. However, I don't think he was the right fit for Rory even if he was the better boyfriend. She and Jess would have been a good match. But, Rory just could never grow up, neither could Logan. I'm all for Team Jess, but I just don't really think Rory deserves him anymore. She and Logan are both rotten people who deserve each other at this point.

In season 4 he wanted her to go away with him, he wasn't stable enough financially or otherwise. By the time he came back in season 5 he was too late, she was with a more financially stable guy. Of course when things weren't going well between her and Logan she went to see him again, but she wasn't really interested in him. And I was so annoyed with her when she hooked up with Dean again, when he was married. Though, Logan I think would have been the best and they would have had a great life, if he hadn't given her that ultimatum to marry him or break up.

Dean was everything and more. That's why he was no good for Rory. Rory needed someone who didn't have it all together all the time. Dean would get on her case about every little thing, because he was so perfect. Jess had good chemistry with her, but he was too unpredictable. In later seasons he didn't have enough financial stability for Rory, also she changed SO MUCH. Finally, Logan was a good match, for her college life. After college she wanted bigger things for her.
