Here's a line that my worst GF ever, used on me to keep me in orbit. "I need to keep my emotions under control" so she could move to NYC and follow her dream of being in the performing arts profession. This makes me sick. My wife came off at first as a good home-school Christian girl. She made me wait, like, 13 dates before we finally had sex. I normally wouldn't have the patience for that, but I felt like I had found someone pure. After we were married, she admitted to having one-night-stands and FWBs. I asked "why did I have to wait?" I used to hang out at a neighbourhood university pub. I knew all the waitresses, one of their friends had just got back from a date with a fellow. She had met him on the Internet, he had been wining and dining her for weeks, taking her to nice restaurants and bringing her flowers. She would dress up nicely for him (in summer dresses). On this occasion she came to the pub after the date to update the girls, everyone was super happy for her, including me. I was feeling warm and fuzzy, young love. Yep. Men's linear logic and lessons ingrained by dad to "never give up" is what fucks them up in relationships because men look at women and relationships with them as a broken car or computer. "If I just to this, that will fix the problem" or "if I just fashion this with a welder, that will be the missing part I need." Had a few exes that I mistakenly got with after going through similar circumstances and events. You can tell when a girl is really into you, and she definitely doesn't act like this. Had a couple of girls that were genuinely into me and it's so so much different, way more considerate, and the intimacy is great by comparison. Not indifferent. Literally had those same couple of exes almost get into fights because some guy or girl was inappropriate and/or hitting on them still after they said they were with me. have a similar recent story. Girl I was seeing who wanted to "take it slow" was getting plowed by her fwb. She went radio silent after the third date where I at least got head. I think part of the issue is that there’s the social programming into our minds that women are precious and innocent, and that we should be gentlemen and please women and never be unkind to them because men supposedly throughout all of history have been unkind to women. However in my late 20s and into my 30s and I came to reorder my view of the world, I operate differently.
