But look at most of the Mongolian concubines, especially Ying and Ke. They were young but had no taste for ruining others, only moving chess pieces along to protect Ruyi and turn Hongli's hard head towards the truth. In Ying's case, I suppose she was treasured by her father but also disciplined/taught well, unlike Gao (Huixian) who seemed used to getting what she wanted.

Jia is trying to bribe the court into favoring her son. She fails to realize the bigger the bribe, the more noticable it will become. This bribe and the rescue of the emperor at the Mulan hunting grounds by the 4th prince raised the emperor's suspicion. The final nail in the coffin was when Jia tried to marry her son off to someone with royal blood showing her intention to make sure her son had the best chance to become the next emperor. The emperor permanently demoted the 4th prince to bring a duke and removed him from the line of succession.

Liangguang refers to The Two Guang provinces - Guangdong and Guangxi. It's a shorter way of saying the two together as governors during those times were usually responsible for two neighbouring provinces at the same time.
