Hi Robin. Glad you are back. ❤ I liked the video. If I can be honest, the avatar was interesting. I get it TJ wanted to obscure her identity, but if I can make an observation not everyone is ready for AI. I read all the comments. I’m interested in knowing about payments via PayPal and taxes etc. Maybe… you can have another expert on that doesn’t want to be an avatar? To me, it’s like getting a second opinion.

I'm a Realtor. We are considered self-employed. I keep all receipts. Keep a spread sheet of all buyers and sellers and related addresses. I use a specific credit card for all purchases related to my job. I then use TurboTax Home and Business and follow the step-by-step questions. I also make quarterly payments (most of the time). If you're organized, it only takes one day to gather everything and get my taxes done. If you don't make quarterly payments, definitely keep a separate bank account and set aside at least 15 percent from each payment you receive.

It doesn't really work to lie about your age. Many of the surveys are about your health insurance coverage and your income, the number of children you were raising, where you live, how big your house is, what's your weekly grocery bill is like and what you purchase. On and on and on, so lying just get you into a web you do not want to spin.

I would like to know whether TJ’s “fishing” time is included when calculating the number of hours spent on this. The reason I ask is because $25/hr sounds great but if that gets diluted after you factor in the unpaid “fishing”/searching time then it’s not got as good an hourly salary as it seems at first.
@jessivigus7330

She did, she calculated 80 to 90 hrs a month and divideed that into the $2500 to $3000, so yes it includes all the time spent, fishing and all.

Question!!! After watching this and several other videos that you have produced about this topic... I know that it's advised to have a separate email account for this type of income. But what about a separate phone number, pay pal account, bank account, .. and what about taxes? Is this considered 1099 work that you will have to pay those high 'self employement' taxes on?? So many questions... I want to do it but I want clarity before I jump in and create a mess first.

The issue I have is with this type of work is that it's considered independent contractor. Therefore the employer does not pay social security taxes on on your behalf based on your wages. I was a notary signing agent and I found lots of work but at tax time I was paying 50% tax rate in my state. The money I made wasn't worth my time (and not to mention the wear & tear on my car.) Perhaps this is a better solution because there's no driving involved, yet the taxes are a bitter pill to swallow. Some may be willing trade the higher tax rate in order to have the flexibility.
@anniesshenanigans3815
@anniesshenanigans3815 7 ай бұрын
that is what I was thinking as well. Get paid 10 dollars and pay 5 dollars in taxes?? Not really worth it if you are spending an hour on a 'project' if you add up the time involved. that is less than the very low minimum wage!!

Thank you TJ & Robbin for sharing your knowledge. I’ve purchased the book, forgot about it & now am delving in cover to cover. Being retired this a discipline I’m looking forward too. Cheers all🥂

This is great info. I work as a tarot card reader and an Uber Eats driver. But business has been slow with my tarot readings and my car is my home so I don't want to ruin it by overdriving with Uber. From the sound of it, some of these options could relieve some of my financial stressors. 😊

I’m very intrigued by this video….thinking futuristically in retirement. Perhaps do some of these and combine my future craft business… 🤔🤔🤔

Thanks for sharing all of this, it sounds very interesting to me, but I have a few important questions. Is this something that I can do on my laptop, Will I always be required to having to be on a video, my only phone is a regular flip phone, no fancy stuff on it at all. Also, I can get myself a biz-like email, but why will it be getting filled up as your friend TJ had mentioned & will I be getting many phone calls with any of these 3 types of work@home types of jobs? Please answer these 5 questions here, that I consider highly important, ok, thank you very much.

Robin, thank you for the informative video. I'm being forced into early retirement and thought this would be perfect for me however...I applied for several tasks with no acceptance. The video interviews require a laptop or desktop and I only have my smartphone or tablet. Will you ask your friend if this is always the case. TIA

Great job guys ! Robin thank you for doing such a great interview and letting TJ just talk (so frustrating when an interviewer keeps interjecting and stopping the flow) but also thank you Robin for the fabulous information. You and I are similar in that we research before jumping in so when you recommend something I know I can trust it.

It is! I have it on my Kindle and on my Kindle app on my iPhone. Robyn also updates it regularly (annually I think, so you want to refresh your your copy of it. It doesn’t cost any more money for her updates. It’s a fantastic resource.

Hi - I apologize for maybe not following rules. I am planning to be working remotely in the near future. How do you manage receiving a paycheck? I have heard a lot about mail services and I already do a lot of business on line. I am a bit concerned about receiving a paycheck. Plus I have a client who has an intern that wants us to direct deposit her pay check and we don't know how to do that since she is not on our payroll. Any advice is appreciated. I started watching your channel recently and have made it through the first year and am getting through year two. I appreciate your work for us who are not quite there yet. OH - also I have a farm in upstate NY. If you ever come this far east come for a visit. I will be selling by fall, so come soon. We have water and electric hookups for three sites, but two have semi-permanent campers in place.

Greetings from Asia! Thank you so much for this video! The work culture in Asia can be quite abusive and harmful to one's physical and mental health. So glad to know there is an alternative approach to generating steady, good income!

I’m wondering if being almost 64 years young with few computer skills, not a shopper, I have what I need & that’s all I want. Makes me a bad candidate? I tried some of this last year just not these companies. I got up early filled out surveys to qualify then went to my full time job. When I got home I filled out more surveys while eating dinner & until bed. Did that for about 6-8 weeks every day & was exhausted only to see I didn’t qualify. Wrong companies or going to find the same outcome with these is what I’m wondering? It was difficult because I usually have internet connections that are not great. I think dealing with that would be another expense. I’m a widow left with a load of debt living in my travel trailer but not able to enjoy it.
