I don’t know exactly how to explain it, but I want a relaxer and at the same time I don’t. Hair takes a lot of care regardless of being natural or relaxed. To me, in order to have healthy relaxed hair it’s better to find a good stylist because I’m lazy when it comes to my hair and I know it will fall out bad. But as for my natural hair, if I don’t keep it stretched, it will fall out as well. So, I feel my best bet is to keep it in braids that I do on my own so it can be stretched and not have a lot of tension on it. Idk. They both hard to manage IMO.

I am in the same predicament! In 2021 I had breast cancer and of course my hair fell out from the chemo. Now my hair is trying to grow back but it's got 3 different textures from baby hair to medium coarse, and my regular hair. The length in the coarse has the most growth 4-5". The rest is 3-4". I like all of the pixie cuts and I'm thinking about going back to a relaxer for that. But I'm scared that the relaxer will be too strong for my hair. Time will tell. Good luck with your hair selection.

Why most cosmetologist don't mention treating the scalp
@TheLoveweaver

Because people just want to look good & not actually be good. They really should be teaching & guiding their clients. A lot of people just don't know.

its probably a legal thing. Cosmetalogist just do beauty treatments. Scalp issues and treating the scalp should be referred to a doctor.

Thank you for explaining texture because I’m sick of naturals claiming their hair is thicker since they went natural. I ask them when you get a silk press is your hair still thicker than it was when you had a relaxer? No it’s the same hair. A relaxer doesn’t change how many hair follicles that grow out of your head.🤦🏾‍♀️

No one answered the question you asked about “How often does natural hair gets trimmed and how often does relaxed hair gets trimmed” I wanted to know hence my original reason for commenting. But Googled it and it says “Most stylists recommend that you trim your hair every 3-4 months if your hair is healthy. Sometimes, healthy hair won't need a trim for up to 8 months.” - However I do now want to comment on experiencing the same kind of hair loss as your client. This has been something the older women in my family have been dealing with. I began losing my hair at my crown as early as 28 years old!! I’m now 50 years old & the bald spot is now (at my crown) as wide as the brim of a regular size wine glass 🍷 hopefully you guys get what I mean🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾 I personally glued in tracks in my 20’s and was as careful as careful could be however I didn’t have a good experience. (I’m not a professional either tho🤷🏽‍♀️) I think your blending technique was great and overall you did an amazing job!!! I wonder is Nutrafol hair regrowth system worth investing into 🤔? I needs help 🤦🏾‍♀️😩😩😫😢 P.S. New Subbie here 🙋🏾‍♀️

OMG this poor woman doesn’t even have a hairline anymore. She wants what she wants instead of treating what she has but this is a woman who likes fake hair - looks at her eyelashes, look at her brows. Her lower lip is ginormous compared to the upper lip, off topic I know. She should be seeing a trichologist and/or dermatologist and not a hair stylist and paying to make her problem worse.

Hi you done a beautiful job on her hair but can I say That’s not how I was taught in school (1994/95)it’s shaft(harder process cause it’s no heat),roots, last ends(ur ends are porous that’s why they done last)you also supposed to part through hair while putting on shaft as well not smooth in with hands cause it’s not going to give a full breakdowns although I no the ceramic irons will smooth out the rest but wat happens when she sweat in her head and the smoothness is gone.Maybe they are teaching differently in school and state board. Also Did u forget to base her nape and along her hairline. I’m not coming for you cause I love how u do hair ms crystal. And her hair is gorgeous gorgeous.
