I’m a case manager for a medical practice in Southern California. I have many patients who suffer from mental illness as well as homelessness. I’m hoping to help some women in tough situations by finding them local sponsors for hair care. I service an underserved population and am trying to help people holistically. I wanted to understand more about black hair care so I can really help my patients achieve a better quality of life, starting with the basics of hygiene. When you feel better and look better you want to do better. Some of the foster placements I work with have zero access to culturally sensitive practices and suffer unnecessary hair damage, humiliation, and poor self image. Thank you for educating me so I can help my patients on a deeper level. I really appreciate how you explain textures and struggles. It really is helping me identify my patients struggles and giving me ideas on how I can help them achieve the basics of wellness. 🙏🏻 May God bless you and hold you up in his image. Best wishes to you.

You did a beautiful job on her hair. I know that black and gray can be a little difficult to manage (especially when I’m not that educated on hair), however I still love that color. The next thing I must say is it’s nothing like seeing how well your hair looks while taking care of your clients hair. I don’t see that too often. I appreciate someone taking care of my hair that has time to also take care of their own. I thank you for sharing this video too. I really enjoyed it.

I sure do appreciate the education. I have always had about 3 different textures in my hair. Now that I’m in my mid 40’s, it’s even more “fun” to deal with the on-slaught of gray. I thought I was the only one with resistant hair on the crown of my head. I’ve been flat ironing my hair since about 2007. . . and the crown always takes the most passes 😩

I don’t know why this video even came up on my home page, I watched it anyway even though I’m not really interested in hairstyles. This was amazing! I used to have a friend who had very similar hair to this lady. She used to get so frustrated trying to style her hair. The more she brushed it, the thicker and longer it got, but it didn’t get longer in length by going straight downwards, as she brushed it, it would go outwards. 😂 The only way she could go out and not have to worry about her hair going crazy, no matter if there’s was too much humidity in the air, whether it rained, whether it was windy, cold, hot, warm, her hair would have a weird reaction every time, followed by us having many laughs about Sandra’s hair. But the only thing she could do to have a stress free hair day was to wet it and pull it up in a ponytail followed by a bun type thing followed by a long clip to make sure her hair didn’t escape,just for one day. 😅😂😅🎉

Her hair is amazing. Great job as per usual. Henna and indigo makes my gray hair somewhat fall in line with the rest of hair. Not 100% but better. Better meaning I like it better. More smooth and shiny. FDA just approved Olumiant (baricitinib) oral tablets for treatment of alopecia. I didn’t read the warnings for this pill yet but I’m sure it’s a laundry list. I’ll also bet money it’s very very expensive and some of the higher ups just bought stock in Lily before it was announced.

😂 I always wondered what made a "silk press" a "silk press"... This is EXACTLY how I straightened my natural hair in high school 22 years ago! Also YESS, my crown always messes with me, when I used 2 relax it, when I'd straighten it, & the last 9 yr as a natural curly/coily.

I have mostly silver hair (approx. 95%), and I don't use heat at all due to the grey hair, even avoid excess sun. I try to keep my hair covered when out in the sun.
@katwoman18832 жыл бұрын
That’s great that you do your best to protect your hair. You can use a purple shampoo that helps with yellowing of grey hair and keeps it vibrant. Learned about Fanola No Yellow Shampoo through one of Crystal’s videos. I also learned that to put some of her heat protectant on my hair when out on sunny days. Every little bit helps.

Aha🤣... She said that salt hair is very disrespectful and doesn't care what you're trying to do! So very true, especially when I was natural. It seems a "bit" more obedient now that I'm relaxed, lol... My hair still gets "browned" by the flat iron, not sure why, what is a "good temperature" to curl salt and pepper hair-notice it even when I go to the salon🤦🏾♀️? ( I have 4c with some 4b in the front where most of the grey is in a pixie cut).
