I know restrictions are easing but I am confused about it all. Is physical distancing completely over in the US? I am a frontline health care provider and this is very concerning to me!! Physical distancing is still very much happening in the rest of the world, even in countries where numbers are going down. Stay safe!

Our Village - Most people realize that it’s no worse than a flu. The original estimates of a high death rate were extremely biased because the sample was only based on very sick people who had come to the hospital for treatment. Most people that get this disease either don’t even know it or don’t think the symptoms are worthy of special attention.

I am in MA where our numbers keep going down because we are only in phase 2 and slowly reopening, masks are mandatory in public, other states have opened too fast and have spiked its terrible! Thank you for working the front line! Stay safe

Betsy Ross Respectfully, this information is wrong and could be dangerous, which is why I have chosen to reply to your comment. I am a doctor and am well aware of the numbers. You’re right that most people only have mild symptoms; however, the death rate for COVID-19 is significantly higher than a flu and COVID is very much more contagious. I do hope you all stay safe and well through it all!

Our Village - Thank you for your comment. The statistics on the death rate of Covid is over-estimated because it is based only on the number of people who have tested positive for the virus. There have been separate studies that have shown that the virus is far more widespread than would be indicated by the confirmed cases. Since far more people have the virus, the death rate is much lower than what is reported.

I am so glad you found Alice. I know early on, many of us cat people recommended they not be outside cats. Being fully indoor cats, is way safer, they live a lot longer. Glad she is safe this time though.

I can't speak about the state they're currently in, but if you'r family is in Florida then they are relatively safe considering. In Florida, the median age for testing positive has been steadily decreasing since the week of March 1st, with that week being at 65.5 to the week of June 13th - last Saturday, being 37. And 62% of all new cases are under the age of 45. Studies show that 69.1% of infected individuals under the age of 60 had no symptoms. In the beginning of April, for ages 25-34 there were 1021 cases found after testing 11791 people, which is 8.66%. In the beginning of this month, there were 2370 cases found after testing 30995 people, which is 7.65%. Although there are fluctuations within that timeframe, it demonstrates a continued decrease of 1.01%. For that same time period, people age 65+ tested, April 1814 of 15894 = 11.41% and June 1464 of 70664 = 2.07%. A decrease of 9.34%. Furthermore, while the positivity rate since the reopening of most of Florida has increased, something which was fully expected, the number of people getting sick (showing symptoms) has significantly continued to decrease. And the statewide daily fatality rate has steadily decreased from 41 on June 2nd down to 5 on June 17th. And with 86% of all Florida COVID-19 deaths occurring in the age group 65+, that means that fewer and fewer of those new cases are likely to be fatal. Take care.

I love your channel, but gosh sometimes y’all are the most irresponsible people I have seen. Katie loses her phone in the ocean by climbing on rocks and kicking it out of her hand and not the first time she has lost, or broken a phone and said it “wasn’t her fault”, you almost lose your cat, again not the first time - but thank goodness she came back - and although quarantine might have been lifted you still have bigger grouped get togethers. Also not to mention on many occasions you have let Katie, and now Ryan drive your car without being old enough, without a permit or a license! Doesn’t matter is you’re in your neighbourhood. All it takes is ONE screw up. I miss the old vlogs where your kids respected you guys more and you actually disciplined them.
