Susan Smith, my mother died several years ago and I still had a breakdown today. My husband has moments when he doesn’t remember she died after his stroke and he had one today. He told me we needed to run in there and call her and his mom to tell them happy Mother’s Day. I hate to have to remind him because he gets so upset. He did tell me after he was able to talk after his stroke that she and his dad both visited him and said God wasn’t done with him so he couldn’t go with them.

You know what I like so well about your family? Each of the family members feels loved, has a tradition, has a hobby or something they excel at. You celebrate each person’s uniqueness and don’t try to change them, just help them onward. I love Andrea’s traditions. I love the flowers. I love how her legacy is carrying on. I really miss her. I know everyone does. She was such a joy an a encouragement to me. So quick and fast she left. Some people live for others and Andrea was one of those. She touched allot of people in many ways and will and left imprints in all of us of herself. Thankful to have known her through you tube. We have all been Blessed by her sharing and caring ways. I remember when Andrea passed away, my sister told me. I watched and cried at the news. The unexpectedly my brother died two months later in October. It hurts so much. I am keeping you all in my prayers.

As heartbreaking as this is, I can feel her life, her breath, her love in each one of your children. You have been so remarkable with your sons & daughters that they are able to grieve and continue on with such transparency. It never ceases to amaze me how you manage to do this, and so very rare in our modern day. I am of the belief that God did not take Andrea from you as part of a plan, Tom. That He instead rescued her from her worldly pain and a despicable disease. How selfish I feel that I miss her for her upbeat videos, soothing voice, cooking & sewing projects, famous Wal-mart runs and grand party style. When at the same time you and your family have lost your sweet love and dear mom. There will never be another Andrea, but there will be generations of Mills children who will benefit from the roots she planted. Be assured that your hard work and determination towards this same goal are awe-inspiring.

Tom, This is a beautiful tribute for your precious wife and mother! You are so right, "EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE". I try to remember: "I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss, the dance".
