Angelina is self-taught - she has never had a long-term vocal instructor or coach - her only "training" has been on how to keep her voice healthy. She has constantly worked on her own to develop and maintain her singing ability since she was 2 years old.

I LIVE for that first note!!!! Haunting Chills! She has an observable power increase since this performance, that was obvious in her Westgate concert ( in which l wish l could have been there to hear this change live). With that increase l noticed lessoned nuisance she has always had at her lower register. I'm sure that will be redeveloped in time, at the moment I'm just spun out at her new found power.. Great evaluation.

I was in Portsmouth and I was at the Vegas performance February 29th, 24'. 1st show, 2nd row and what a performance. Portsmouth was great but this Vegas performance was 10 times better. The band was top notch. The audio and acoustics were out of this world good. Why wouldn’t they be. It’s the same stage Elvis performed on using the same sound system and the same Top-Notch professionals. Our barefoot princess was stunningly beautiful & the lighting & effects were powerful. Her voice was unmatched and many of her performances sounded better than the studio version. Simply the best concert I've ever attended. I was lucky enough to be able to record most of it as well. A memory I will cherish to my dying day. Check these out - React or not, I would love to get your feedback. Angelina’s Original about Why She Sings ‘Bare feet’ as Angie would say. Carl, that was another great analysis & break-down of this vocal masterpiece by Angelina. Actually her low, resonant, warm notes have always been amazing. When she was 12 yo, she sang How Great Thou Art, in the same low key as Elvis & it was beautiful. Obviously, her voice has matured every year. Her tall frame (6") has blessed her with the neck of a swan & a very agile larynx, giving her a wide vocal range. When she "officially" started singing at 7, she already had much lower notes than I've ever heard before from a child, especially a female. Now her low notes send shivers down my spine!!!

It's evident that Angelina has always possessed a unique and impressive vocal range, even from a young age. Carl, what a great vocal analysis and reaction! I thought I saw your eyes getting a little bit red as Angelina sang that transcendent ending. The natural song for you to react to next on your journey is her performance at the Nobel Peace Prize concert just a few months ago at age 17. I'm sure that you will be fascinated by the background of this performance because it greatly shaped her approach to "Unchained Melody". Here it is: Narges Mohammadi is an imprisoned, peaceful activist in Iran. She was awarded the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize "for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all." The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran condemned the decision. Narges has spent 7 of her last 8 years in prison there, separated from her twin 17-year-old daughter and son and husband who are continuing her work from France. Angelina was also 17 at this concert and her grandmother/mentor Mery Zamani (who was also a child prodigy) is Iranian. Also, Angelina has wanted to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert (in her home country of Norway) since she was 6 years old. "Unchained Melody" (her choice) is from a movie about a man in prison longing to be reunited with his wife and family. It has classically been performed as a straight romantic song -- Angelina masterfully transforms it back to its original emotional meaning. Angelina performs it with Norway's National Radio Orchestra, KORK. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqnHpnqJn6Z9edE

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and for providing such insightful background information about Angelina Jordan's performance at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. It's truly fascinating to learn about the context surrounding her rendition of "Unchained Melody" and how it ties into the story of Narges Mohammadi, a courageous activist fighting for human rights in Iran. The parallels between Narges Mohammadi's struggle and the emotional themes of "Unchained Melody" add a profound layer of meaning to Angelina's performance. Her connection to her Iranian heritage, as well as her long-held desire to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert, further enriches the significance of this moment. I'm deeply moved by the depth of emotion and purpose behind Angelina's choice of song and performance. Thank you for sharing this powerful background, and I'm eager to experience the heartfelt rendition of "Unchained Melody" in light of this context. It's clear that Angelina's artistry extends far beyond her vocal abilities, encompassing a deep understanding of human emotions and the power of music to inspire change. 🎶✨

I always learn a lot from your reactions Carl. I love the juicy little bits Angelina inserts that elevate her performances. I will mention one in this comment. When at 8:47 she sings "We can't go on together.." there is a vocal scratch in the second syllable of the word "together" that adds so much character to the line. Also the nasal tone she employs is very Elvis.

This was a fascinating analysis. Thank you. Angelina recently made her debut in Las Vegas at the age of 18. She exhibited a commanding presence that will only grow as she makes more performances. What was on full display was her vocal expressiveness, versatilty and stamina doing some 40 songs in two shows that evening. She moved effortlessly through a pallet of timbres each in service to the meaning of the song. From hushed tones to powerful belts, low rich tones to falsetto runs, even some whistle tones. It was a joy to behold. But I went alway as always with how strongly she reaches my heart with the stories in her songs combined with her humble and gentle stage presence. That, to me is the real strength of her artistry.❤

Angelina starts off with the bridge, completely different from anyone else; and then, begins with the opening line of the song. Her beehive hairdo, is in the homage to Priscilla...many photographs of her hair exactly like that. And a leather outfit he later wore. The guitar is the Elvis 1968 "Comeback" Guitar. Rob Christie actually owns this one. The two young cousins, are Uncle/Manager Michael's children. The young girl is her sister, Juliette. Angelina had a framed photo of Elvis in the Service, at the location. Such respect. Rob Christie is on the piano. Een van die beskrywings as sanger deur haar aanhangers is nie verniet " the girl with the 1000 voices "nie. Haar stem word elke keer aangepas by die betekenis en emosies van die lied wat sy sing. Luister na haar weergawe van "How great Thou Art" toe sy 12 was.

❤️❤️❤️❤️👣 There is another 16 year old performance filmed in this location that is well worth hearing, My Funny Valentine. Another one filmed here is a black and white video of I Have Nothing. She sounds better than Whitney Houston to me.

I’m going to disagree somewhat with you. I been following Angelina for five or six years. Even though her voice is stronger and faultless here, I don’t think of it as better than her younger voice(s). I love young Angelina just as much as current Angelina. I’m old-I love her covers of 50’s music and even earlier jazz and blues. She stayed closer to the original melodies and cadence-for me, that’s what I love. Especially when we hear her unique tone and interpretation over so many genres That said, she has given me my favorite version of Suspicious Minds as she’s done with many, many iconic songs.

Your comments on voice breaking during puberty are very interesting. But regarding Angelina Jordan... I don't really know how to get it across without seeming disrespectful. Do you know the bumblebee paradox? That's how I feel about Angelina's "voice break" from a "scientific perspective." If she had anything like that at all it was between late 9yo and early 10yo. Otherwise it is a constant flow of change (or improvement if you like this term better), caused both by physical changes and by constant trying and adapting on the artistic side. You've now seen 3x AGT (13yo), "Spell" (9yo) and "Million Years ago" (12yo), that's not much (= not enough) - I encourage you to watch more from the period 10-13yo plus "Easy on me" (15yo). Of course, the growth of the body has an impact, especially when it concerns the power of the voice. Apart from that, Angelina has had many other things from an early age - breathiness, vocal fry, different types of vibrato, a unusual very deep voice and the ability to use other tools from the jazz singer's toolbox. She doesn't have the nicknames "Vocal Chameleon" and "Girl with 1,000 Voices" for nothing, her versatility and ability to adapt her voice to the respective song is astonishing and often deceives her actual age. It's hard to reconcile this with "general science" - just like the flight of the bumblebee.

She has a great voice and always has, but she lacks emotional depth for me. Having heard Elvis sing this in person.
