A Lesson from Mary Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. -1 Corinthians 1:27 There are a lot of misperceptions about Mary. On one hand, people place her on a pedestal. And on the other hand, she is ignored and misunderstood. But Mary was a godly person living in a godless place. And she showed us that it’s possible for someone to live a godly life even while living in the midst of an ungodly environment. Mary lived in Nazareth, which, for the most part, was not a popular destination. God could have chosen someone from Rome to bear the Messiah. After all, Rome was ruling most of the world at that time. God could have chosen someone from Jerusalem, the spiritual capital of the world. Or, God could have chosen someone from Athens, the intellectual and cultural capital of the world. But God didn’t choose someone from any of these places. Instead, He chose a young woman who was living in Nazareth. Roman soldiers overran Nazareth, an obscure place known for its wickedness. That is why Nathanael, when he heard that Jesus was from Nazareth, said, “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” (John 1:46). Yet God chose Mary and this obscure place to accomplish His purpose. He chose an unknown teenager living in an unknown place to bring about the most known event in human history: the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. It seems that God goes out of His way to choose the most unexpected people to accomplish His plans. The Bible is filled with examples of the most ordinary individuals being chosen by God to do the most extraordinary things. Mary was genuinely humble. She was surprised when the angel Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, . . . for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David” (Luke 1:30-32) When we think of certain men and women of the Bible, we see them in their greatness because of what God did. But remember, when God called David, he was a shepherd boy whose father didn’t even acknowledge him. Yet God instructed the prophet Samuel to anoint David as the next king of Israel. When God chose Gideon, he was hiding from his enemies. And when God called Simon Peter, he was out catching fish. But the Lord raised him up to be one of the great apostles. And God chose Mary to bring about the arrival of the Messiah. The apostle Paul wrote, “Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful” (1 Corinthians 1:26-27)

Why would they not let them mow the lawn?
@davelindgren52457 ай бұрын
@@AgriLifeIreland Number 1 reason, too dangerous, they might cut off a hand or a foot and grandma or their best friend or some freak on CNN or MSNBC says it it too dangerous. Reason number 2, they are scheduled for so many activities ranging from soccer to after school tutoring to piano lessons, that the kid doesn't get home until after dark after getting fed dinner at one of 2 dozen fast food restaurants on the way home. Starting at the age of 10 or 11 people are already thinking about their kids "college resume". Things people start worrying about having for the college resume includes: the millions of activities the kid was involved in, what classes you took, your GPA, all your test scores, and all the volunteering you have done. The volunteering situation is a racket. You can "win" awards based upon the number of hours you volunteer. And by the way, 99% of the time, the kid needs to be with a parent when you volunteer so they get free labor from 2 people.

Yall have become my favorite channel on here (outside of a few gaming channels) and seeing 3 different generations of the Johnson family together during a harvest is amazing. I hope for many many more years of success for your family. Thank you all for bringing us joy. It’s been fun watching the channel grow over the years, all of the hardships, all of the scares, all of the humor, and most important the sense of family and love.

3 Generations of Johnson's working the farm, what a great thing to see. Isla will be joining you soon and Grandpa Nate will sitting watching as Onyx in the combine, Riana in the grain cart and Isla running tillage. Or you are going to need more equipment so that everybody has a cool green machine.

I look forward to every video, your entire family and crew working as a close team. Can't wait to see your kids on tillage.

@12:03 and this is why people should have kids. They get the work done you don’t want to do. I probably shouldn’t say this because I’m 14 but I think this is a valid reason why people have kids because my dad sends me out to mow grass and move snow

Don't know if it's possible, but if you put thick rubber mats with chains on underneath the dryer, you can pull them out, flip them on a good spot and scoop stuff up with the skidsteer. Saves you probably a day of shoveling

It’s awesome these young people are out there working alongside dad and grandpa love watching this. I’m 65 and have never driven farm equipment like that got to ride in a combine twice I thought it was a blast. Better than the two row ear picker I rode on when I was young.

I raised a couple of ‘femme fatales’ like the Johnson girls. They weren’t raised on a farm like I was, but I did expose them to picking and hauling rocks with a backhoe-front end loader on our twenty acre rural homestead. One’s a 57 yo RN and her 55 yo R Ph sister have both done alright ❤️. Cheers for all three of the Johnson kids. They’ve experienced and learned the rural work ethic.

Could you get a metal worker to come out and build something under the grain dryer so the dust doesn't settle right below the dryer but on the sides.... like a mini roof that would shed the dust to either one side or both sides? It might help with the amount of time for cleanup. Thinking out loud.

Three Generations working in the fields together. Awesome. Zack, under the grain dryer, where you always have to crawl under to clean. Put some angled flashing underneath the support legs. Still have to clean it up, but saves the back breaking work (or child laborer) to get under it.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. Saw on KZbin a new product, a shield that covers a wheelbarrow that has a shop vac built into it. By setting it on top of a wheelbarrow it turns the wheelbarrow into an extra large shop vac. Wondering if you might build a similar top for the bucket on the skid steer for cleaning under the dryer. Might have to add an inverter to the skid steer to power the shop vac.
