Don't forget another Girl Scout staple: Banana Boats - unpeeled banana sliced down the length (not all the way through)), then fill with chocolate chips and whatever else you want. Wrap in foil, then place into the coals until the banana is baked and the chocolate is melted. Yummm......

Slowly and constantly twirl the stick to make it evenly brown without melting off your skewer. Also a fun fireside contest is seeing who can get the most skins off the marshmallow before it gets to small. Toast it in the fire , peel off the thin toasted skin and repeat, whoever gets the most skins wins. We also had contest to see who could puff their marshmallow the most. The more puffed it gets the more meringue like it gets so you have to spin your skewer faster. The trick to puffing them it to heat the skewer up before skewering the marshmallow to slightly sear the inside and hold it fairly high above the fire and constantly spin it . I have puffed them to nearly four times their original size.

My sister that just passed and I camped out for out first time at a KOA back in the late 70's in San Antonio. They had movie night on a white painted board that was interesting and shower/restrooms. Great memory. Awesome veiws of the area. Enjoyed and thanks. Hugs to Punkin and Much Love.

We really enjoyed the video. We have stayed at the Cherokee KOA several times.. I hope you made the trek across the mountain to ride through Cades Cove. It's a must to enjoy wildlife. Just don't pull the camper through there. Also I wanted to give you a sweet campfire fix if you like coconut. Get a loaf of French bread, cut in cubes, roll in sweetened condensed milk then roll in coconut and toast it over the fire. They are wonderful, but I do recommend a 2 prong roasting stick. I hope yall have plans to come through Virginia! Be safe!!

What a great video. I grew up camping out, and on many a trip we stayed in KOAs. Glad to hear they're still out there. Leave it to you to make S'mores even more yummy than ever! I've never seen them made with Peanut Butter Cups, just plain candy bars, but that does sound yummy! And the fruit has to be utter perfection! And all the other things in this video were great! Especially enjoyed your conversation with the Native American gentleman. So informative. And seeing the painted bears was fun. I live in the Kansas City, MO, metro area. Years ago we had painted cows all over the area, because we were once known for the huge stockyards that was here. And right now we have giant painted hearts, all over the metro area, with pictures symbolizing a particular theme for the community they're in, or a particular cause. Thanks for taking us along!!
