I'm disabled, no income, never thought to apply for SSDI, figured I'd be okay til I'm 62. My County's Treasurer's is foreclosing due to back taxes from when they changed my address during Covid & never told me... now three years later & I'm in their effing scam trap. America is disgusting. People wonder why suicide is on the rise. I'm sorry I can't donate to Zoe's fund today. I don't even have one dollar in my wallet. So sad. If only 1000 people donated a buck she'd have reached the goal of $1,000. What's worse is the feminine social comparison culture. You hear this lady talking about all of her abilities achievements and accolades, she's trying to display as much competence and pride as possible. Why? Because she's homeless. I have noticed "being nice" and "positive" rhetoric take priority over everything. Including community action. Everyone must say the thing which sounds nice, like it could be in a Hallmark Card. That is not helping, because everyone is lying.

When a woman is homeless, they are prey, especially if they get a check each month. You have to be careful of everyone. I know this because when I was homeless, the predator prey dynamic was real, and it was awful. I'm so blessed to have my own home where I'm safe.

I came to the US in the late 80s and I was in my 20s. There was a woman at a bus station saying how America gave so much to the world and help foreigners and illegals with money and other types of help while she had to struggle to keep up with her life and she wasn't exactly happy about it. I never forgot her. It was shocking hearing her because I could see the amazing potential and opportunities this country offers that do not happen in other countries. I worked over 40 years, the majority of those years as a legal secretary working with lawyers and judges, quit working at age 72. When I started making $15.00 an hour at age 70 I was so grateful and thought I had hit the big time. People flipping burgers today start at $20.00 an hour. Life makes no sense.

Hey man, Aussie living in Thailand. This is both a concerning and awesome interview. I love that you did it and thank you. I wish that Matt Damon or Bill Clinton would do this same interview in order to get more views.....their interviews wouldn't have been any where the same and perhaps way less insightful because they most likely would have controlled it and butted in a lot more....whereas you just let Zoe flow and let the story be told. Well done sir, some of the stuff Zoe revealed basically meant that you're f**** if you do and you're f**** if you don't. The move west will be great for Zoe, I hope she can do it. Arizona & New Mexico are the two best states for van life.....yeah, I'm an Aussie living in Thailand but I know this from copious van life videos :)

Send her money if you want through the channel but don't contact her or harass her! I have a question. I live in Australia, we have our own homeless people, but nothing like in the USA. Does either the Biden or should I say Harris Govt, as well at the Trump camp, speak about the homeless problem in their campaigns for reelection and talk about a solution to ease this?
@Invisiblerealities15 ай бұрын
That's a good question. it does get brought up from time to time but what I hear from the homeless community is that nothing really gets done to help them. Actually, there's a law that is being passed in Florida that starting October 1st. Any homeless person that is camping out in the streets will be arrested. Very sad, and most people don't know what they're going to do. They have nowhere to go.
@aviewer95165 ай бұрын
I could be wrong, but I believe most of it is left up to each state. In California, Newsome supposedly gave a ton of money to 'agencies' to help the homeless but nothing was done. Clearly, there is no oversight and some dispicable folks got very rich off of this. It's so hard for me to believe that they just funnel money over with no expectations and/or progess reports. CRAZY.

I have concerns about food because my retiring husband eats 15000 calories a day & he will consume his entire Social Security benefit in food alone. This is why a woman can't share resources with homeless men, they'll eat your share, too. Watch the Survival reality shows- the women make tea, fish traps for food, and then do arts & crafts making hammocks & stuff while the men starve because they only think to line fish or hunt beasts. Calorie deprived, they lay around. The women were doing arts & crafts living on tea.
Only in America they don't take care of their homeless or veterans, but give the immigrants free housing and free food. What's wrong with this picture????

@@Invisiblerealities1. Ty so much. I’m in California and bc of the inflated prices including my rent it has gotten so scary. I took an early retirement and it has been a disaster. I have a meager pension and my Social Security was augmenting my retirement and then Social Security reduced my SS by 50%. I was shocked. I’ve been fighting it with my local congressman’s office & they have been useless. I’m in an avalanche of nonstop financial crisis. I have a paid for car but I know it is dangerous for a single woman to be homeless & living in a Prius. It is the scariest time I’ve ever been in. U look online for help for seniors and it is a JOKE. I’ve contacted corporations who say help for seniors and it’s a lie. This government is stealing money from social security to help the 11 million migrants who have come here from all over the world. NYC just took the homeless out of hotel rooms they gave them to migrants who had just arrived in NY . They gave them debit cards & credit cards. This is all UNCONSCIONABLE what is going on. I may need a go fund me myself and I have no knowledge how to start one. Please let me know if u can help me. I’m like one month from possibly being evicted. Ty so much for ur channel and compassion.
