I understand that back in the day mixed people were considered black but now that it's 2023, why not embrace both races? There's no way a biracial child raised in a predominantly white town by white grandparents has the same experience as black people who have 2 black parents in America
@1fattgirlmah1

They do have the same issues within their home, in their community of peers and outside of their community. Many of them end up in foster care or with grandparents because the white mother won't raise them and so many father's seem to only be single dads if the mom and grandparents are dead etc.

Because you're still considered blk in America. Look at Ayesha Curry vs Steph Curry. 1 is mixed the other is light skinned but if they were both men, they'd be considered blk by the cops and racists. Yea, they might have somewhat of a different look but don't we all, we're not a monolith.

This woman is certainly entitled to her opinion, and if she chooses to only date Black men, that’s her prerogative. However, whether or not she realizes it, the whole “White expectations” comment is actually insulting, demeaning, and smacks of a belief in White superiority. To classify things that are positive as being exclusively White, is to basically say that anything that isn’t White, typically isn’t good, except by happenstance. Saying that she has White expectations of Black men is pretty-much the same as saying: *”I desire all of these positive attributes that White men have naturally, but Black men struggle to achieve”.* She dug herself in even deeper when she added: *“Maybe my expectations are just too high”,* i.e., *“Maybe I should stop expecting these naturally substandard Black men to be anything other than what they are typically capable of being”.* Girl. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Furthermore, I don’t consider eating at Applebee’s to be substandard (I don’t eat there, but I don’t suppose there’s anything wrong with it). I also know for a fact that there are White men out here who are taking dates to AB, (hell, Walker Hayes made a song about it) who aren’t making six-figures, who don’t ski, nor skydive. She needs to explore the world beyond the threshold of her rural surroundings, because despite how she thinks she’s coming off, she’s actually showing that SHE is, in fact, the one with limited, compartmentalized social exposure.

Her response was very coherent. It is just selfish and somewhat conflicting. Take away the race dynamic and she is no different from all the other women who come on. They want to be as non traditional as they want, but want a traditional man to accept their rebelliousness. Non traditional women get non traditional men. Non traditional men don't have to care about things like getting married, having a great career, being honest, being moral, and having a desire for education and knowledge. If she wants the man she describes, she needs to hit the gym and accept that man is going to lead her. By the sounds of it she is used to supporting men and as a result being the head or leader in her relationships. Traditional men don't want that mess.

As a black woman who has dated black and non black, men from all races offer what they can afford or what they think the woman deserves. YOU decide whether you want to go or not. I was over this interview when she said "Everything good about me, is black" and I don't see how anyone doesn't see that as self hate. Then, you diss our men, but have the nerve to want one. Finally, don't try to pander to us now that you have been called out on your bullsh!t. Why are you even on the show? Probably because the men you want, don't want you. I understood exactly what she meant. She wants a black man who doesn't think that black culture ends at going to a Lil Wayne concerts. She'll go to one but she would also enjoy going to see the ballet. What she should have said is that she wants a black man that doesn't limit himself because he's Black. Sadly there are many in 2023 that still do that. She talks too much. She seems to be the type were every move made has to be a long discussion. She talked about men mis representing themselves. That's exactly what she did. She said she was raised Black, then she said she was the only person of color in the town she grew up in while living with her white grandparents. That math ain't mathing. She is trying too hard to be something that she isn't, which is black. She needs to understand that dating black men is not going to get her a black card. Not when she looks, sounds, thinks and acts like a white woman.

What you’re saying makes sense. It could also be true that in a majority White town she was seen as Black, or at the least a person of color. I can imagine never quite being seen as the other half can make one feel like they’ve grown up as only one. I also think that society sees her as Black. When I think of Barack Obama, Boris Kudjoe, Mariah Carey, Halle Berry, etc., society sees them as Black. I don’t consider Sasha and Malia to be biracial even through their father is - maybe even Michelle has some mixture in her. I think her experience adds up with how society would categorize her.

Translation: she is speaking from her experience. Her circle ⭕️ is too small. She dates/dated Pookie’s and Ray Ray’s because that’s who she has knowledge of, and who approaches her. As usual, she’s making anecdotal observations and substitutes them for facts about Black Men. She explained her being isolated in her rural upbringing, so she has little experience with successful black men. She is taller 5’11 and she’s obese. All the money in the world isn’t going to sway the attraction of men who have options. Ladies: Attraction is not a choice. Men are either attracted to you or not. Your money isn’t what we are attracted to. You education is irrelevant if you’re not visually attractive. Her two problems are that she’s very masculine & Obese. She described nothing that a man finds attractive in a woman: 1. Outspoken, AKA argumentative 2. Educated, AKA Opinionated 3. Financially Independent, AKA I don’t need no man 4. Obese, AKA lazy - take me as I am. Therefore, she creates a narrative to justify her lack of success in finding someone who’s income can afford more than Applebees. Welcome to the money club. A twilight zone. It’s a clown show over here. A bunch of moronic isopods who reside in their own shelled ecosystems who dream of literally striking the lottery for partnership in a gated community covered in gold which exists only in their own delusional minds. I would say leave Colorado for a sec. Go and experience black folk in the major US cities we are known to be and are thriving in. First she'll find we're not a monolith. Second, she should experience groupings of black folk "in their native habitats 😂" to get a feel of her tribe she belongs. We ski, go to the opera, take cooking classes, make high figs...blah, blah, blah. Thats not a white thing, that's a class/access thing, but because she's not exposed, thats not her reality. 3. Stop leading with being black and just be you, people will appreciate you for it. I'm a black girl from that part of the country and the black experience is "limited", socially, economically etc there...#trust. It also doesn't help her Boomer white grandparents raised her in an all white town. That had to do something to her psyche and impressions of blackness. I wish her the best.

I’m sorry but instead of a date she needs to focus on therapy. She’s so set on distancing herself from everything white. She can’t do that because she’s half white. This goes much deeper than what needs to be on a dating show. 😢

Her thought process is interesting- I’ve come across a few KZbin videos where biracial ppl with a white mom and black father tend to want/ prefer a black partner and the way they describe their upbringing is totally different and kinda negative compared to a biracial person who has a mother of color and a white father…. Wish her the best✨

As a mixed person who has actually lived that experience... I will say that there's nothing to be confused about unless you require external validation to tell you who you are(which she seems like). Ive never been confused.. Im not white nor black... Im "mixed" and the experience I have is a "mixed" one. I am my own individual. I dont need to fit into white nor black norms. I am "me".... that is an independent experience when contrasted to the black and white experiences other people may have. It doesnt confuse me because I recognize it as my own as opposed to trying to relegate it to form fit some preconceived expectation of how my experience should be; tied to a race.

Luckily for her she is biracial and has "light skinned privilage" (which she probably doesnt want)...so if she lost a bunch of weight and styled herself she might be in the category for those type of men she wants... but whoa... Also...yes, she has a lot to learn. She should get therapy for her mommy issues. I feel a little sad about her inner turmoil.

She needs to realize because she’s educated and thinks she deserves certain lifestyle. She is not going to get the cream of the crop of men and she only attracts basic men.

She's obsessed with blackness. She sees herself as "black" but I did not see her as black. I immediately saw a bi racial woman. One who even uses diction like a non black woman. This is what someone who's having an identity crisis looks like. She knows being black is powerful, and I respect that.
