Tshego Mokonoto it was. The hijackers usually try and disable the tracker then leave the car somewhere for a while to see if someone will come and get it (if the tracker is active). If not then they come and get it after a while then do whatever they wanted to do with it.

Anton, I’m surprised. Why was it so silent up to 1:38, even accelerating hard? It sounded as if a switch had been activated from that point. Never heard a modern car having such an induction roar, which would be heard outside the car, not just inside. Unless SA models aren’t governed by the strict EU controls on noise. Induction roar was normal when I raced at Kyalami in the ‘70s, as no intake filters where used. Today’s cars are strangled noise wise ex-factory.

EJ Just asking as the spec of the SA version is no doubt subject to VW Germany’s approval and manufactured under license, and it all depends on how much leeway SA models have to be modified or allowed to differ from the German design.
