Mat: Really enjoy your vid!! Having had 50 cars over the last 50 years (no, not one per year), I can say after watching some of the stuff you've done in your driveway, been there, done that. Have changed out clutches in the snow, brakes in -20C, plugs in the rain. Not because it was "fun" but because the circumstances demanded it. Now I have a 100 year old barn (at least with a concrete floor) located within 500 feet of the sea, so my tools and tool box sweat from the humidity and everything metal corrodes from the salt air. But hey, can still keep my '08 BMW 7 Series going nonetheless; so keep on going and keep doing vids. I'll watch every one. Cheers from Nova Scotia, Bill.

Mat, I do all my own oil and filter services. Conti GT, couple of 911 Turbos, a Cayenne, etc. when I do this work, I always pressure wash the engine shields, and do a full detail of the lower engine and suspension while I have the car up. It is really not such a big job if you do it with every oil change. I do oil every 3000 miles, in spite of using synthetic. One of my old Mercs has 140k on it, and has been trouble free following this regimen on this car for 25 years. I do the super clean with WD40, generally using a full can each time, along with some towels that go in the trash afterwards. Love your tool kit, it is a great way for a beginner to start doing minor service. Many of my younger friends would like to learn basics, but have no tools.

Monaco is the Vegas of Europe; brilliant place to be. The Grand Prix ( been there and the Grand Prix of 2014 ) is breathtaking - for me anyway. Stayed in Villefranche ( the outskirts of Monaco ) and made my way down to it from there. I digress, it's awesome and the drive along the French Riviera ( don't take the motorway, use the B roads ) you'll cruise alone the coast of France and enjoy the drive up to Monaco. The roads are so much better; smoother. And see if you can go through THE tunnel and get the roar from the exhaust; you might want Hannah to take the A45 and then you'll hear what it really sounds like. It will be epic. Anyway, cracking on watching your videos are always a treat. Thanks again sir!!!

Hi Mat, I like your videos! The engine is a different area than the others in many ways, needs a bit more attention to details. Some observation to help: - Please ask Hanna to hide her hair before this type of car job. It could be dirty easily but the it could be very dangerous regarding the possible moving parts of the engine bay. - Wear protective glasses all the service time, or at least when service under the car. - When works with liquid (oil, cooler) use surface protection under the car all the time. Even experienced mechanic can not avoid to spill some fluid on the surface accidentally. The stain is very hard to remove, sometimes impossible to remove completely depending on the surface. - Oil change: worth to repeat all the time, please apply oil to the O rings of the fllter and the filter house. Maybe you did it but please show on a camera to make sure followers will do the same. Put paper tissue around the oil filler neck to prevent spilled oil getting under that. It is a headache to clean it. Use plastic funnel to help prevent the spill and speed up the filling. Please do not remove the oil cup completely or if you do than cover the filler hole preventing to drop anything into the filler neck. - Next tool could be a torque wrench in the MA tool collection. The spark plugs, oil drain plug and intake screws need to be tightened according to the producer's specification. It worth to do the investment, much cheaper than open up the engine again for missfire problems or repairing the oil sump because of the overtightened screw. Spend some seconds in the video on the oil screw washer. It should be replaced or the screw should be replaced if it has embedded rubber seal to make sure there will be no oil leak if proper torque applied. - Invest into a repair manual online or printed. A lot of time and headache can be saved to know what to do before the job allowing the right preparation. The car will be worth to show in Monaco when it will be ready. It is good just to cruise a lot but there is a lot of opportunity to walk to beautifull places as well. There are good running tracks on the hills above the port with spectacular views. I hope both of you will be there to collect rare moments of life.

And each job requires a new tool or two and this builds up my toolbox and gets me prepared for the next job!

Good to see your trying to get the younger car enthusiasts to work on there own cars , in my 40,s now and I still live by the rule of man made it man fix it saying that my 2020 fk8 has five years warranty so no more for me for while ,but ,I still do my own upgrades and still detail myself . The years I have spent under the bonnet has paid of ,to all you young lads and lasses if you work on your own car it’s gives a tone of knowledge how it all works . Great vid as always Matt keep up the good work P.s after watching you wrap has given me a bit of inspiration so I’m going to wrap my rear high spoiler in carbon myself.for the 1st time .👀

Monaco is an amazing place yet if you are careful where you go its not as expensive as you might think. Can't wait to revisit myself.
