I think it's a beautiful sculpture. I'm not surprised if someone simply sculpted it and added paint and a wig, I mean look at ancient Greek sculptures! If you want a more modern example, look at the sculptures made by Luo Li Rong, or Madame Tussauds

Also adding to your other comment, human taxidermy is super expensive bc any little bit of decay makes them look horrible and shriveled up, and so they need a lot of touchups. Old taxidermies tend to smell... Warm, of leather and a bit musty. I'm not sure why this sculpture actively smell like formaldehyde if it was in a ventilated area for so long? Unless they were spraying it to keep something at bay like mold? Formalin and Formaldehyde are being less and less used and replaced with other chemicals nowadays

You ultimately can't make a body immune to decaying because even without apparent rot the body will inevitably lose water and thus structure, not even the best embalmed mummified corpses we know look that perfect. Embalming is simply not enough, you'd also have to store the body in a perfectly controllable environment that keeps humidity levels safe and it's also expensive as fuck to keep a body that "fresh" over the years. It's in fact so expensive that the Soviet union and now the Russians have been considering to give Lenin finally the rest he deserves because it's obviously so expensive that it starts to feel like a stupid idea.

@@shadowmystery5613 true, i believe i expressed myself wrongly, what i meant to say is that you can slow down decaying enough to make it seem like the body isn't aging, and i believe just a couple hundred years wouldnt be enough to notice it, wax or some wax-like substance could also help on slowing decomposing, since the body isn't alive, there's no reason to keep it 100% organic any way, although, i don't think this is the case, because, as you said it yourself, it's very expensive to keep a body in this state of conservation, there's some work arounds to achieve this or at least something that looks like this, but i don't think a shop owner would do that specially to family
