Her hair looked amazing. You are such a good hairdresser, you listen so carefully to what the client wants but ask so many good questions to make sure you are interpreting their ideas correctly. About 20 years ago I asked for layers when what I actually wanted was face framing (I didn’t know how to articulate what I wanted and had no photos to show) so I left the salon with something I didn’t want and wasn’t expecting. Although they did a great job I wasn’t happy as it wasn’t the idea I had in mind. Congratulations to you for being able to do this, you have so much patience and do a wonderful job every time ❤

I want to cry that she bleached her hair. Why? Her natural hair colour would have looked gorgeous with this cut. This stylist is brilliant, and I loved the way she honed in on the word “disconnect” and tried to fully understand her client’s meaning.

@ Any bleaching regardless how well done even by a professional always will damage hair to some degree because the hair structure is altered on a molecular level. But you are right, we are seeing this from two completely different perspectives. Hope you continue to enjoy and have fun. 🤩

To the girl in the chair! If you want chunkier curls, try this: brush/detangle your hair before you wash it. Wash it carefully, so you’re not creating tangles. Do NOT comb/brush your hair after you get out of shower, while it’s still wet just apply whatever product you need. Your hair texture looks like mine, and if I comb it after the wash it breaks up the clumps so I only detangle before the wash. 😊 Some curly types can comb after with no issues, I cannot.

Yessss to all of this! Combing after washing is a no no for me too! Also I've noticed that wash day the curls are slightly finer but still nice but if I just get my hair wet without washing on day 2-4, but still add more product and scrunch then by day three my curls are defined and "chunky" and gorgeous!

I do the same. I like clumpy spirals. I brush very carefully the night before with spray detangler.

She might find jucier cirls if ahe uses the "squish to condish" method, and/or rinsing it out with her head upside down. I just started that technique last week and the curls are JUICY!!

If she wants plumper curls she needs to moisturize! Gel and leave in conditioner usually are the best for super hydrated curls. I used to have thin wispy curls when I bleached my hair too, tons of products is the only thing to fix that!
