When I was a lil boy I always felt like Brandy was the villain in the movie, as I got older and watched it again I realized Martins character was the true villain lol. He made that woman fall in love with him just to stop messing with her out of nowhere that would make any woman go crazy.

She went overboard but in reality he played the wrong game with her and she warned him also and even asked is it someone he has feelings for and he lied just to get the cookie. Her actions were valid in my opinion. I don’t think it was just sex that made her fall in love. It was him being very persistent and showing interest in her and with them spending time together, she started to break down those walls and fall for him. The sex part and him saying “I love you” was the 🍒 only top that completed the 🍰 she was crazy she was hurt and fed up

Darnell never liked her. He more so was infatuated at the idea of getting a woman who completely rejected him. His ego (along with his bet with T) wouldnt let him give up until he got what he wanted. Once he got what he wanted (sex from Brandy), he no longer had interest in her. And her confessing to killing her ex didnt help. And her telling him that she would get him his own club made him stay a little longer........As far as Brandy, you kept saying through out the movie how you couldnt understand how she could go crazy over Darnell after just one night of sex. Darnell didnt make her crazy, she was crazy LONG before she met him. Both Darnell & Brandy have one thing in common, and that not being able to handle rejection. When Darnell got rejected, he was relentless at getting Brandy. Showing up to her job office, scheduling to meet her at a for sale property as a fake potential buyer. The movie makes it light hearted, funny and romantic. But in real life, thats psychotic stalker shit. Brandy had any and everything she wanted in life (besides a man). Very well accomplished. When she couldnt keep Darnell after sex and trying to buy him, her crazy side kicked in........this should be a lesson to a lot of gold diggers trying to get that well accomplished man who got "the bag". A lot of them dudes, cant handle rejection well, and be beating and stalking their girlfriends/ex's when things dont go their way in the relationship. That's why a lot of professional athletes be getting domestic abuse charges all the time.

This is one of my favorite movies. Darnell got exactly what he deserved for playing with Brandy’s feelings. Martin Lawrence was the biggest comedian in the game when this movie came out. His show Martin was one of the top shows on tv at the time. Lynn Whitfield never plays a broke character. It must be in her contract to never play broke. Here is a sad fact: Martin Lawrence was going through a divorce during this period which led to use drugs & it’s the reason his eyes were bloodshot red & he had problems with his cast mates on his show Tisha Campbell in particular who played his girlfriend turned wife. Not only did she leave the show but she also filed a lawsuit against him.
