Quinn Gray lived with her husband in Ponte Vedra beach. They had the beautiful mansion, the great job, the fantastic life. But one day, Quinn was kidnapped by three men, and held for $50,000 ransom. The police got involved, there were money drops, there were threats. But, all was not as it seemed.

I have bipolar 1 and I’m a recovering (sober) alcoholic. It makes me so angry when people use these diagnoses as an excuse to just be terrible people. Not even at my worst (when I was unmedicated and hearing voices in my AC, convinced I was being spied on after going 3 days without sleep, all while drowning my thoughts in cheap vodka) did I think “hmmm, I’m gonna go swindle my loved ones today.” The only thing crazy about her is how selfish she is. And anyone can be selfish, with or without a diagnosis.

As someone with bipolar disorder who's actually been through several very traumatic extreme manic phases in my life, I'm insulted that someone would try to use that as an excuse. If that's part of your bipolar disorder it's an extremely disruptive symptom that you have a history of. It doesn't just conveniently happen to you in the middle of a fake kidnapping you've setup. It's incredibly insulting and makes me very, very angry.🤬
@belle9438
@belle9438 Жыл бұрын
You know it's not a symptom. I have several very close family members who were diagnosed as teenagers. One of them took his life at 24. Unlike his brother, he never said a word about what he was going through. Now it's been passed down to another generation. It's like a lot of other conditions one is susceptible too. Both parents carry the gene and it's pass down. She may be bipolar but her defense was reaching for straws using it as an excuse. I agree with you, it's very insulting.
@serenitythroughdiscoveryho8448
@serenitythroughdiscoveryho8448 Жыл бұрын
Right with you. I'm bipolar one. It happens and there are usually signs that it is about to get bad. Increase in rate of speech, flight of ideas (like grand scale ideas that never reach the the planning phase) unfinished projects, agitation, euphoria, lack of sleep, lack of appetite... they vary from person to person and are typically life long once you've had one. My first hypo manic episode was when I was 14. I was severely abused by a diagnosed narcissist which elevated my disorder and I had my first mania 7 years ago. I have one to two manias per year, and then fall straight to depression as I am a rapid cycler. This is not a disorder to use as an excuse! This is why the stereotype around disorders like this is so bad. It's disgusting. Thank you for your comment. We are not what people think we are and it's people like this who keep it that way. It sucks.

I think she was mad that her husband controlled the finances and even thought they both were having affairs, ithink her insecurities got the best of her and she wanted 50k to pay off her car or just party with. Sad they didn't serve anytime.i mean the guy he should probably have gotten that deal probation and fines but she should have served jail time. She needed it. Honestly it's nothing short of a miracle that she wasn't automatically believed and every man involved wasn't given the maximum sentences for every possible crime she claimed. This is actually incredibly unusual in the US court system, I'd safely say for every falsified kidnapping of a woman it is probably a 1 in 10 chance where the woman accuser is not automatically 100% believed by 🐷 from the jump. Now that’s some real privilege, money for those two lawyers Dr’s to testify on her mental condition at the time. I really can't help but feel that this entire thing was planned by her as a means of getting attention. She's right why would she attempt to go through all this trouble for $50,000 that she could have taken out of the bank. Unless for some reason her husband was in control of the finances but this wasn't mentioned. I mean they said he made $70,000 a month. I mean if she could not access the cash why didn't she at least sell her car and say it was stolen. None of it makes any sense except for she wanted to play a victim and have her 15 minutes of fame. Someone mentioned her being dropped off completely naked and as soon as I saw that I thought that's the behaviour of a drama queen. I mean who would do that except for someone seeking attention. As always the heartbreaking part is she has a child and they are always the most innocent victim in this type of thing. Can't believe she's working in a treatment centre but to be honest I've worked in several and they have a tendency to have some pretty questionable staff.

So the 2 life insurance policies? Just a CoincidAnce? Or are we missing a BIG part of the plot (!)?… And how did they tie up 100 officers and almost $100,000 and just get parole? Did the husband pay off the court? Maybe Yasmin was working for the husband (for money) from the start (at the gas station) but then switched sides to get money + sex (?…

As much as I love true crime and especially this channel, I find that hearing about all of the different murder cases is weighing on my heart even though Mikes's delivery typically helps to lighten things a bit. I do, however, really enjoy the failed hitman for hire cases and cases such as this one where the criminal is foiled without actual loss of life.

@@krisbest6405 Don't be. Most people, including men, are decent people. It is scary though how the creeps seem to find each other, however from these stories we also know that many a friend has turned in their murderous buddy. While you should always take care, and recognise that a friendly affable person does not necessarily mean they're a nice person, you should also know that the chances of you dying at the hands of some evil freak are very slim.
