discovering you and you'll music has honestly changed my life. i live in a part of the south where acceptance is just crazy rare, for race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. growing up, no one ever taught me about empathy, let alone about minority groups. which is why i LOVE your music. it's so raw and honest and it's opened my eyes so much. you're an amazing woman and I hope you continue to bless the world with beautiful and real art.

[Verse 1] Not your business but I've seen some shit Got snatched up by my mom when I was six I can still smell the smoke as the bullet missed That's a lot for a kid Had enough when I was fourteen I ran away so I can force down my dreams But I didn't have the knowledge The streets was too much Mama just taught me I wasn't enough [Pre-Chorus] You're safe so you live it up Hard days, you've never seen them love I'm not saying I'm the only one But damn some days don't it feel like it [Chorus] Hands up, please don't shoot They say that you'll love it if your mouth stay mute They say they don't see color but the blood stain show the proof Hands up, please don't shoot We'll living in a world but it can't take truth They say they don't see color but the blood stain show the proof [Verse 2] Lock me up when I was nineteen There goes my twenties and there goes my dreams Put me on the yard and said sacrifice the queen That's a lot for a teen Cried so much when I was released Kissed the grass under my feet Modern slavery tried to get the best of me That's a lot for anybody [Pre-Chorus] You're safe so you live it up Hard days, you've never seen them love I'm not saying I'm the only one But damn some days don't it feel like it [Chorus] Hands up, please don't shoot They say that you'll love it if your mouth stay mute They say they don't see color but the blood stain show the proof Hands up, please don't shoot We'll living in a world but it can't take truth They say they don't see color but the blood stain show the proof [Outro] Now I'm sitting in my fourties What I need I can afford it Butterflies on the red carpet That's a whole lot for me That's a whole lot for me
