Thank you so much. I have using these for 7 months and I love them but I couldn’t find any videos on it. I feel so knowledgeable about my choice.

This product used to be my staple! They changed the formula around 3 years ago.

I have been using it a long time. I have not really noticed a difference. But it may be due to I follow it with the Loc and Braid Butter to twist my hair.

Wow, now i know why my son and i hair is dying out so fast! I was just using this for our twist. Going to go and get the loc and butter by shea moisture. Thanks

Hi Latasha: The loc and braid butter is really good. You still have to re-moisturize your hair when necessary between wash regimens, but not as often. I'm glad the information helped. 😊

Hi Barbara. Thanks for posting. Congrats on going natural! Now! Not all alcohols are bad. Almost all hair products have an alcohol, but it's not the type you think. The good "alcohols" are fatty alcohols. Fatty alcohols are a very common ingredients used in shampoos, conditioners, gel, etc to help mix oil and water. The good alcohols are Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, which are the most common alcohols used in products. They don't dry out your hair, but has multi-functions. Besides mixing oil and water in a product (they wouldn't if the alcohol wasn't there), it also thickens the consistency of the product and helps to coat the hair, in a lubricating way, to help group hair strands together to create a curly pattern, in other words, get a great twist out! They help to smooth down the hair strands and minimize frizz. 😃 Don't throw out those products, if they are the good alcohols. LOL! The fatty alcohols is a waxy solid type ingredients. Here is a link to help you understand the good alcohols vs the "bad" alcohols". www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/curl-products/all-about-alcohols

So do I have my shea butter and oil before this leave-in since it has sealant properties or the leave-in first like normal?
@ZalinaW2 жыл бұрын
You don't have to apply both shea butter and oil AND the product. Shea butter and oil are main ingredients in the product.

Would it be good for dreads do you think? Or would it lead to build up
@ZalinaW4 жыл бұрын
For dreads, this would be a good product for conditioning the hair. With dreads, I would suggest Shea Moisture JBCO Strengthen & Restore Loc & Braid Butter, too. It helps to maintain the dreads, plus condition. Product build up happens as a result of how often one washes the hair or doesn't wash the hair. If you don't want product build up, then wash the hair on a regular basis. Hope this helps 🙂

Hi! Update to my response. I just watched this KZbinr, who has some great advice on Locs that you might be interested in. She talks about product build up. 🙂 She has beautiful locs and addresses products she uses on her hair kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYPLnqljZ7FpY5Y

Once they changed the formula years ago I was done Vinegar in the leave in is SO Drying it’s to acidic I’m done ✅ with Shea moisture they are to inconsistent and THREE alcohols it’s a joke
@ZalinaW2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cee: I have to respectfully disagree. The alcohols are not the drying type of alcohols you may be thinking of. These are fatty alcohols that are in almost every hair products, lotions, shampoo, etc. Fatty alcohols are a main ingredients in a formula to help blend oil and water, plus can help with coating the hair to make softer. Fatty alcohols don't dry out the hair. Check any conditioner you have it will have some type of fatty alcohol. If it wasn't in the formula then the ingredients water and oil would lie on top each other in bottle because oil and water don't mix, which both are usually in conditioners. As far as the ACV, there isn't a significant amount in the formula. Ingredients are listed in order of concentration from most to least and the vinegar is at the end of the ingredient's list.
