Great data. Likely much lower pressure drops across the core as well.

You ever get the intercooler working correctly? I have a different motor, I’m on 22psi and getting 180* temps as well. Was looking at this intake but came across this video.
@legacyperformance9982 Жыл бұрын
No sir I sold it, after spending about $5k between the new turbos and the IC and a2w system the performance was subpar. I spoke with multiple respected individuals in the industry. Nobody wants to bash the company or individual in particular. But the end result is that sandwich style intake IC are trash. 63° to 170° iat in 5.5sec is unacceptable.
@soullesssol7285 Жыл бұрын
@@legacyperformance9982 did you end up going back with a2w after selling that? I have a couple buddies local to me that run piping straight from the turbo to the tb, but they run dual 650cc injectors. They run e85 and use the phase change of the fuel to cool the air. They regulate them based one temp but still hit 170-200 iats @30psi but they are running 4.9x 1/8 miles. Pretty impressive but I can’t do that on mine as it’s a street car.

Did you get faster, slower or the same times? Getting more boost means the intake has more back pressure than the air to air?

Sorry to hear it, I really need to make another video, however I'm hesitant. As I'm really salty about the recent data. It would be a very nasty video of me bashing shearer. $3000 for more efficient turbos, over $3000 in intercooler and a2w system and still have 170° iat in less than 3 sec.

looking good dude 👌 I'm finally getting my car back together and an been looking at sandwich style coolers myself just seen Tick released a new one only for Texas speed intakes though sad really looks like I'll be sticking in the lo pro intake

@legacyperformance99822 жыл бұрын
It's in the rear, but according to modern forums "Facebook groups" it doesn't matter if the iat is in the rear or middle, it makes no difference. I really need to make a follow up video. After the new turbos were installed. The results are the same. Instant heat, 60° to 170°+ in less than 3sec. The intercooler is junk and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

is it worth it to install this for street racing ? instead of getting air to air cooler ?
@legacyperformance99822 жыл бұрын
I haven't done any back to back testing myself. But I would assume water would always displace more heat than air. Even if the water is warm

I use this same intercooler. Where these 1/8 or 1/4 hits? Do you prechill the core before you roll in to the burnout box?
@legacyperformance99823 жыл бұрын
These were 1/8 noprep logs. I dump Ice in before leaving my pit. Drive to staging wait till car infront of me dose burnout then flip the pump on. I'll do another video when I get new turbos. I wouldn't be surprised if iat stays around 100-120 with more efficient turbos.

I'm kinda late to the party but I have a couple questions. First what pump are you running? Secondly was the ambient air temp relatively the same on the two passes? Great video I appreciate the time you took to make it.
