You have quickly become my favorite sheep farming channel. The content is amazing! Always something different. Seeing the sheep in their natural habitat is important to me. It's also what I'm used too with the farmers here in the states. Your constant engagement with the sheep is what makes your whole channel. Your personality is hypnotic. Your knowledge, bountiful. One sheep, lol nay problem. All the best from New Zealand 🇳🇿 for the impending arrival. Very exciting. Mother of 6 here with one piece of advice (yes I know everyone does this lol). Keep music going the sleeping room during the day, no tippee toeing around. Shhhhh the babies asleep nonsense. They have lived 9 months in a noisy place, so no silent times. thanks. No there is a shedding gate just before the shearing trailer that the lambs are let out of. It works well as they are only away from their mums for a short time.

Yeah Brianna! The shoes are leather moccasins. Make a massive difference in grip and freedom of movement!

In a mixed flock do all the fleeces get sent to the Sheep Board or are some of the fleeces sent for fiber processing? You mentioned several sheep that are represented in the yarn I use for knitting. Six Hundred sheep is quite a day!

Hi Donna. So we used like 5 different bags here for all the different breeds. So Mai had to see the sheep we were shearing and then put that fleece in the right bag. Then it all went to the wool board here in UK.

I noticed that you sometimes wear special shoes for shearing. Why do you need them-what is special about them?

well spotted Kathryn. Those are leather moccasins. They mould round your foot and give you grip around your whole foot as we use our feet at many different angles to get grip on the boards.
