Shed Built DIY Electric Skateboard (Esk8)

DIY shed built electric (Esk8) made during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Parts used are as follows:
Two Bare Feet longboard deck
MBS ATS 12 mountain board trucks
Flipsky 4.20 plus VESC mounted to a homemade internal & external heatsink combination
Two Flipsky 190kv 6374 motors mounted to a unbranded 16 inch motor mount from Ebay, hand filed to suit the trucks
Self made Fiberglass enclosure and then hydro dipped all in the comfort of my shed
All cables are self made from XT60 and XT90 connectors wired with AGW cable numbers 10 & 12

I bought ATS 12's full intent of going on a mountainboard ... GUESS ITS NOT NOW!

At some point I may upgrade the deck to a mountain board one, put the electrics on top and swap the tires for off road ones so I can use the many trails around where I live. Just a thought at the moment, maybe a winter project....

@@theshedbuiltesk8r189 Only thing I can say about doing this with a mountainboard is doing electronics at the top is the easiest and probably best choice, I 3D printed a bottom mounted one. Issue being is the flex and hump of the deck. When you bounce or jump the cover needs to flex in a way. So my cover is sectioned off and not a solid piece. Also means ... it's not water resistant at all! That's why I honestly liked your idea, I've been meaning to ask, how is the turning

@@willknight3449 I'll probably just buy a couple of waterproof junction boxes for the electrical bits before I decide on a final plan for the conversion if I go ahead with it later this year. The turning circle isn't as good as a double kingpin truck and I've had to tighten the back more than the front to help with speed wobbles, but other than that it's quite agile.

how did you match up the motor, rechargable battery and the controller that links the two and wireless controller?

Where did you purchase the motor mounts for the ATS 12 trucks?

They are from Ebay and if memory serves me well they were called something like '16 inch mountain board motor mounts' They still needed to be filed out to fit the brake mounts on the trucks, but are solid enough for the job. (I filed out the first one and then copied it so they match)

I'm currently testing a 9s2p lipo setup and seeing what sort of range I get.

@@aoastral4745 Between 12-15 miles depending on how much I carve. To put things into prospective I weigh 74kg and ride on mainly flat tarmac paths. Hope that helps?

How’s the speed wobbles at high speed?

Not to bad but I've only been up to 29mph so once I've pushed to up to the max I'll know for sure. I think the wide trucks and the battery under the board helps to bring down the center of gravity a bit.
