I like your shed and you can use those boards on the inside for shelves . That's what I'm building right now is pallet shed, but first I put down some pole beans for the corners and Boards right on the ground. Oh I got Christmas lights too That's very cool.love the doors

There are 4x8 sheets of outdoor paneling Ive used for outdoor projects if someone wants to save time from putting on siding. The build is inspiring.

Great Video and Great Job on the shed. I am definitely going to have to check out your other videos. Looking forward to them and more from you. I'm impressed not only with your skills for building from scrap and pallet wood but also for how well you film and edit your videos. Great job in both arenas! the only request i would make is a little more close-ups on some things such as when you assembled the shed doors. I'm in the business myself, but others may need more close-up visuals if they've never built a barn style door before. Awesome work in all respects. You have garnered another subscriber to boot. Happy New Year to you and the Mrs.

A couple drops of oil will fix that squeaky hinge right up! 😂 I, too, have a bare dirt yard where grass won’t grow. 😕 Early 2015 I built some planters from pallets & even lined them with plastic (with open bottom ) but they barely lasted thru the 2nd summer cuz of bugs eating them & them rotting. 😞 However I’m about to tear some pallets apart to make a small shed with a truck camper top roof. I’ll be painting ALL of the wood I use & also have it up on treated wood skids.
@DoubleBitsWorkshop
@DoubleBitsWorkshop 3 жыл бұрын
Haha yes the yard needs to be dealt with. This property is on land that used to be an orchard about 50 years about and the soil is incredibly depleted. I am going to do an update soon on this little shed, since we're coming up on a year since it was built. So far though, no rot. :)

DoubleBit's Workshop I bet if you could get a load of free wood chips & put those down with a layer of wet cardboard underneath it would greatly improve the soil within a couple of years. If not wood chips then mulched leaves. I rent where I live so I’m not too worried about my side yard that is bare dirt. But I have an area out front that drives me crazy. Prior tenants parked there which killed some of the grass & then cats started using the sand as their litter box & over time heavy rain has eroded it more & more. I can’t put wood chips out there but I can get a couple of loads of compost from the city for free & then of course my labor to spread it out. Hope to try that this winter & spread out some rye grass seeds & let it grow until spring & then spread some regular grass seeds. Hope your little shed lasts for a very long time. I know not everywhere has as many bugs as we do here.

After having my feet in boots all day for work it is definitely nice to wear sandals and air them out when I'm home. I just don't recommend it for safety reasons, I know what I'm getting in to when I don't wear protective gear when working on projects at home.

I love it. My concern is the pallets on the ground. How will it hold up and how did you guys move it back in place? Was it heavy? Thanks for sharing.
@DoubleBitsWorkshop
@DoubleBitsWorkshop 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! The pallets on the ground have a few stones placed in the ground to help keep the structure from sinking into the ground and it helps keep the pallets from getting rotten in the soil, and we were able to push it back in place with a bit of brute strength.

Awesome, how did you attach the walls to the floor?, Please describe or show how as I'm a novice. Thank you
@DoubleBitsWorkshop
@DoubleBitsWorkshop 3 жыл бұрын
I used 5 inch lag screws for any connecting joints. Those particular pallets have a 4 inch wood block for its main raiser and structure block, so attaching to it insures the most secure and structural spot for attaching anything to it.

Did u you use brad nails for attaching the siding?
@DoubleBitsWorkshop
@DoubleBitsWorkshop 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, they were harbor freight pin nails or brad nails. I find they hold the siding on just fine and it's a cheaper and faster way than using regular nails or screws

How did you do the floor? Did you take apart the pallet and reattach the wood to fill the gaps in the pallet?
@DoubleBitsWorkshop
@DoubleBitsWorkshop 2 жыл бұрын
I took the top boards off of the pallet and attached 2 x 6 boards that I had scavenged from a previous pergola that had sat in the same spot that we took down due to rotting boards. Another option if you don't have other boards to attach would be running shorter pallet boards over the top of the original pallet but perpendicular to the pallet. I hope that makes sense and answers your question!
@dailydetail8003

Where did you find those pallets
@DoubleBitsWorkshop
@DoubleBitsWorkshop 3 жыл бұрын
They came from my work. But you can find good pallets behind beverage distribution centers or if you need really strong pallets look behind brick yards and ask for permission. Most of the time the companies are looking to get rid of the pallets.

The asphalt paper acts as a membrane that even with pin nails or screws seals to the screws or pin nails as they puncture it, and no water goes through it
