I think its difficult for people to comprehend just how awesome a decent stove is. I live off grid in Mexico. My stove is my most prized possession. At first, I thought the tiny stove wouldn't be enough space. But, it's perfect. I'd never own another full sized stove. I'm celebrating for you! Your countertop is beautiful.

Hi Rodruigo. You are totally amazing! You are creating your own tiny paradise to make your life easier as you build your 'big house'. How proud you must be feel of your progress... you have learnt SO much, GROWN SO MUCH, and are just a super young man! You really are an inspiration and your sense of joy and achievement is just wonderful. You are an asset to Jordan and Kaylee and the others, - a good friend, a great 'family member' and a wonderful 'uncle' to bubba Sadie. Well done- you have matured into a wonderful young man, self sufficient and bright. Thank you for sharing with us! Love from Australia xx

Not all young people here in the states are allergic to work. It's just the society that has lead to many who don't know what work is. It's pretty pathetic, I know.
@PeggyLeeSebeni2 жыл бұрын
Xavery, it's not societies fault young folks in the US don't have work ethics. Each of them is responsible for ceasing the opportunities that come their way. Follow Rodrigo's example, set a goal & every day do one thing toward accomplishing it. I liked your "joke" about making videos to get women to say nice things about you. Might I suggest you work at recording a couple of 30 second shorts. Give the technology a try. I've been recording lots of videos & plan to figure out this editing process next. How about we challenge each other to see which of us can post something first?

Woohoo!! 🙌 Celebrate good times!! 🎶🕺💃 Reading the comments, I do agree on a few things.. First and foremost, get the propane outside and vent the stove. My cousin died from carbon monoxide poisoning. He was running a generator in an area that was not ventilated. He was young and did not know. His girlfriend and his pets all died. It was tragic and we love you and do not want to see you hurt. Second, look into getting a propane fridge if your solar power source is limited. Third, build a little awning or covered patio area in front of the shed so you have a covered area to work under and stay dry. Last but not least... you need cookies and milk!!! 🍪🥛🍪🥛🙌😂 The perfect way to celebrate the abundant blessings. Make your favorite cookies in the new oven and have with a fresh glass of goat's milk. Yum! Hugs and love from here in the mountains of California. 💞

Your little shed home is coming together, so exciting to get a cooker! I can imagine you might get a lot of moisture in your climate & then mould/damp. (Having experience of getting very sick from mould I was unaware of in my home, I always worry for others) If it interests you I can share a video from another homesteader (I don't like to post vids of others without creator channel permission) of a traditional inexpensive method used by the Amish using Calcium Chloride (sold under various names, commonly used in swimming pools) to keep this under control, essentially you can put it in pillow cases - keep away from animals & children & be careful handling if it gets wet because of the exothermic reaction. It's very good at drying out properties after flooding, and for long term moisture control. It may help in other buildings on the farm too.

Good job and great to see how far your DIY skills are coming along. A tip - put a cover or narrow shelf over the cavity between your exterior wall and the ply. If you accidently drop a tool or something down into the wall cavity you will have a hard time retrieving it. Plus if you make the top over overhang the ply just a little, it will look aesthetically pleasing and function as a handy little shelf for jars, mugs etc. Can't wait to see your finished kitchen.

I wondered about the spaces between the boards on the outside of the shed. You can see light coming through. Is that a way bug's can enter? No form of insulation? I would have put a couple coats of sealer on the other side of the plywood in the walls too as to have that extra protection against weathering and mold etc. One way to help with grinding the corn could be removal of the handle and put a screw in while using a hand drill to turn it. I don't know the force needed to turn it but, worth thinking about.
