@@Dlc18139 aye, I was thinking would it not be better if it clipped onto the bottom of the DB, clear of the switchgear?

It’s not the best example on this board. It does hang below it and is adjustable on the brackets.

It is adjustable and can hang below the board. They have thought about this.

I went to the installer show the other week I found it was a lot of stands for plumbing /heating etc however the Myenergy stand ran through how all their equipment works together. Shame I didn't see you there

I've never understood the need and expense of inulated tools if you can't prove dead don't work on it you don't know what you are doing .

The tools themselves have applications for those who work live under permits etc. I don’t disagree generally that we should be working in dead conditions. However mistakes can happen, human nature and these tools might just save you when it happens

Great video, Mark, thanks. I'm just about to install a small DB in a small workshop I'm building (approx. 3.3m x 2.4m). I am contemplating actually using a 2-pole AFDD/RCBO in the house DB to protect the distributor circuit to the shed with 2-pole RCBOs for the shed final circuits. My thinking is if AFDDs are recommended for timber-based structures (like my workshop) then the distributor presents a risk of serial or parallel arcing in the same manner as any of the final circuits. I won't be able to achieve selectivity for the residual current protection in the strictest sense but, given the nature of the use of the building, I think it's a practical compromise. In terms of your intended installation of a EESS and inverter in the shed, I think a Type B RCD upstream would be required. Looking forward to part 2.

Don’t fall out with that idea at all mate. I did consider an upfront afdd on this but went against it to aid fault finding if they get upset and trip. I think I’m going to add AFDDs to a few of the other circuits down here as I move everything over and get setup 💪

In the UK, is the rotary isolator mandatory? I've seen you use them on the AC and DC side (100% agree on needing the isolation) but I've also been watching a few European PV/battery installs and they use DIN mount isolators in their enclosures and it does look neater.

You can use DIN ones so long as local to the equipment. We have some examples of this coming 💪
