Shed Sticks for Tapestry

There are many different kinds of tools you can use for tapestry weaving but one of my favorites for working on small looms is a shed stick. I've found it harder and harder to find a good shed stick in recent years, so this video discusses what I look for and a few options you can purchase right now. I made all my own tapestry tools. Frame looms, shed sticks & tapestry bobbins! My significant other is a carpenter & always has small scrap pieces of wood laying around. So I grabbed some sand paper & the Dremel & made what I needed. Bamboo skewers come in handy too when working with a sett like 16 EPI 😁

I have a couple of nice wooden bookmarks from a bookstore that work well, but they are an inch wide, hard to use at top of loom.

I make all my tools out of antler and bone, by hand. I sell them as well.

I tried to purchase from handywoman. Unfortunately for us in Germany wanting to purchase from small sellers in the US and Canada, new laws make it no longer economical to ship products to the EU. 😭 I paid almost 200$ customs fees for purchase less than 800$. There are so many great products made in the US right now. EU laws and fees are also not kind to EU small sellers. They are killing small businesses and art careers. End of rant..😭
