Off Grid EccoTemp 10L Marey 10L Outdoor Shower Installed Indoors Installation
In this video I show you how to install a EccoTemp 10L aka
Marey 10L Outdoor rated tankless water heater mounted indoors safely.
The 10L is a great camping shower which makes it great for off grid cabins. But it is rated for outside use. Marey actually makes this heater and they sell it for the European market.
Here is where to get the kit for the vent.

Here is where to get the manuals that EccoTemp won't provide.

We just bought one of these new, and plan to vent it straight up and out the roof of our cabin bathroom addition I just built. I plan to use just cheap galvanized 4 inch vent pipe, but I'm going to line the inside of the pipe with aluminum tape to slow the corrosion/rust process. We are poor and on disability, so we can't afford that B-pipe which is just aluminum pipe inside with galvanized on the outside, so I figured heck, a layer of that alum tape on the inside should do the same dang thing!. We have the tape on our wood stove chimney joints and it's held up just fine to the heat. I'm just gunna vent ours straight up through the roof and make my own flashing with a roll of aluminum I have that I got for a good deal and will alum tape the seams and then high heat RTV silicone all the joints/seams when done. I think with a CO detector, an 8 foot vent/flu going out, that this thing will be just fine. Heck we have a propane stove and fridge in our cabin and CO hasn't been an issue. I think these companies and government just make excessive overbearing rules to try sell more expensive products. I mean I get that there has to be rules for all the tap water dolts that don't have 2 brain cells to knock together that think things like Trudeau or Biden are great leaders, and thus they need to be spoon fed and protected, but for people with even a sliver of common sense these rules and bylaws are downright idiotic! lol!. We plan to make a video of our install and post it to our channel we are starting if anyone is interested in watching that when we are done just go check out "the modern Viking homestead" channel here on poo-tube. Anyways, thanks for this video, I stole some ideas from it and plan to implement them when I install mine. Keep up the good work Mr. Grumpy!. lol - Adam

The only way that is going to kill someone unvented is if it ran 24 7 and you never left your bathroom and the window and door was shut and you’re fart fan was off. A person would have to try really hard for it to be a problem. Awesome setup very smart having it next to the shower.

In the UK back in the post war days, this sort of heater was widely used (I think they're called Ascot boilers or geysers), my Granddad used to have one in his kitchen. As long as you have a long and straight enough flue to draw out the fumes you'll have no problems (get a CO alarm if you want). I guess balanced flue boilers only have a draft inducer fan as they have short flues that vent sideways through walls, and for efficiency.

As I understand it, the supplied showerheads with these heaters are garbage. They are standard threads so, change it to a better one. I like what you did. Using mineral wool ("rock wool") instead of fiberglass was really smart. Fiberglass melts, allowing fire to travel. Rock wool does not burn. Worth the extra cost. Also, I like the stainless braided hoses. Rat- and mouse-proof. Nice, clean installation. Good, clear audio and video. Great job.👍Thanks.

@@imdeplorable2241 Just my 2 cents here, I'm pretty much positive that the shower head is built by another manufacturer than the heater and they just throw it in to some bundles. The heater itself seems to get great reviews. :)

Oh my gosh you’re gonna die! Come to think of it, so am I and the rest of us reading this comment. Great install and wonderful insight on your thought processes with it. Seems to me code is the driving factor on natural venting and the ever disappearing standing pilot. A side effect of what you did is simplicity, you eliminated a lot of sensors, pressure switches, motors, and electronics all of which can go bad. I would recommend looking at common problems for that heater and getting a stash of replacement parts as well. Flame sensor or thermocouples are cheap along with the spark igniter and that will save you some cold showers. Keep making good videos!

How long does a tank of propane last you?
@adamalander7515
@adamalander7515 6 ай бұрын
I saw another video with a guy reviewing his after having it 6 years, and he said a 20lb tank lasts him approx 3 months, and he said he has gone through 3 sets of batteries (it takes 2 D batteries) in the 6 years he's has it. So it seems pretty efficient. :) We just bought one new and haven't installed it yet, but plan to do something similar as this guy has done, except we'll just vent straight up through the roof. Hope that helps. :)

You must live in California because we live in Michigan and we are not mandated to have a blower on a regular Natural gas 40 gallon tank. California is totally out of control. If you do live in California anyways who gives a shit as long as you have a carbon monoxide detector or you have a little vent on the top you can even get one of those vents they sell at Home Depot that takes all the steam out of the bathroom and vent it outside or in the your attic and you’ll be good to go unless you’re taking five hour showers or baths
