I'm fully convinced that they're adding those chameleon duochrome type pigments that're really popular in the nail art community into these inks to get this killer sheen effect going on. I'm actually SO convinced of that theory that I just ordered some of those pigments and some standard basic ink from aliexpress so I can try it myself to see. Now remind me to come back here in like 3 months when my package finally arrives so I can let yinz guys know if it actually worked or not. Lol I only just recently discovered that sheening/ shimmering inks are actually a thing, and ever since I've been graced with that knowledge it's been killing me with how no one is bothering to make videos attempting to recreate these kinda inks on their own. With the exception of like maybe 4 videos, the only vids I've seen seem to only wanna talk about making alcohol inks for resin, or spray inks for watercolor with these mica and pigment powders, and almost none of them are for pen ink. Why?! It's madness I tell you, madness! 😱

Hey, can you tell me where I can buy a bottle of that organic studios nitrogen ink at? Do you know? I'm really new to ink so I only checked on Amazon, but beyond that I literally have no clue where a person would go to buy a bottle of the stuff. Could ya help a girl out, please?! Lol Thanks. 💙

@@lilbluefreak I know it's a year old, but in case you haven't found where to buy it, Goulet Pens sells it.

Another great comparison. It would be interesting to see some Penman Sapphire, if you could find some, mixed in with these modern sheeners.

Love your comparison and the inks. Wondering how Robert and communication breakdown would look sie by side

CB is more like Tammy than Robert but it sheens more than Tammy does with my pens and paper. CB's sheen is gold; Robert's is green-gold, similar to Diamine's Grape and Pansy. Personally, I categorize Robert as a purple, albeit a very red purple or dark pink or a bright burgundy or merlot. CB is almost pure red (it leans _just a hair_ toward strawberry), similar to Diamine's Red Dragon. If you want a red color that sometimes sheens gold then get Tammy. If you want a red color with lots of gold sheen then go with CB. And if you want more of a merlot with green-gold sheen, get Robert.

Love your ink comparison videos. Have you ever tried a Candadian company called Ferris Wheel Press?

Thanks Jay. I have a couple of bottles of Ferris Wheel Press but need to do a comparison at some point.

Cult Pens Robert looks like Diamine Desert Rose - but Desert Rose tended to smudge a little long after it is dry. I wonder if the Robert ink smudge less once it is dry? Perhaps you could try smudge your sample with your finger and tell me if it is completely rigid or does still smudge?🤔

I have had Robert create sheen dust with an italic nib but stayed clean with a medium. One should always assume that a sheening ink will not behave perfectly. I was VERY pleasantly surprised to find that Maureen has hardly any behavior problems despite its huge sheen but Robert is more typical of sheening inks. I'm afraid that I've never tried Desert Rose so I can't compare those two for you.

I tried robert and helen with fine nib and flex nib. Both smears long after it dries.

@@Vetyhutasoit Thank you for your update. Yeah.

I haven't seen Robert smear/smudge after it's dried but I have found the ink still a bit tacky, I've only really used it in a broad TWSBI nib.
