I think Spiral Arrow is my favorite Archer skill, and never really hear people mention it. it stacks so much damage. Love the sound when it's drilling into weak spots

Deathly arrow timing is easier with controller. There's a small vibration that happens when the draw is full. Releasing when that happens nets you gold. Takes some concentration to pick out the vibration at first, but eventually becomes natural soon enough.

2nd best skill archer has imo. But it still needs a bit of a buff. My biggest issue is it doesn't function very well with freezing things. Which makes sense, poison not spreading and all, but it's sad because it's arguably 2 of the 3 best things archer can do. I show that off issue pretty well in my 90sec archer kill on a drake.

If you climb a boss, stick an erupting arrow on its weak spot, then press Y to flip, it does massive knockdown damage. Great for Griffin, Cyclops, Chimera, Medusa, Drake, etc

You can auto aim any shot as it's the same system Pawns use for archer vocation. Fire a guiding aimed shot at the part you want to target, then immediately use the shot you want without the Aim mechanic and it will aim at that guiding shot you just fired.

The deluging arrows are also useful for lightning enchants in addition to ice ones.

Same tbh Drenching shot is situational and requires you to rune a mage a certain way. I rather have my mage have haildom speed celestial, and some dmg spell. I am a strong supporter of tar and explosive shot. It kills most things auto ignites things it doesn't kill and insta staggers allowing you to finish the fight with two-three explosive shots. Drenching shot and ice is pretty meh since it doesn't up your dmg jurasticly and it's more outside your control. I like being able to control what effects get put on a beast. Reason why I like tarring+explosive. I only manually aim to because it's more satisfying and you get better at it loose aim is a crutch.

Still nothing beats ranger 10 fold arrow with explosive arrows. Killed the Grim Reaper with that at low level and I sky rocketed to like lv 80s lol good times

Tempest arrow is one of those skills designed to use at fallen ennemies. When an ogre or chimera lays down helplessly on the side or belly, this is bow go brr time

Fun thing with Lyncean shot. It zooms you in AND stabilizes your vision. This means you can overdraw your bow with the archer core skill, then cast Lyncean sight and have a much more damaging arrow without the aim being shaky.

Also fun fact shooting enemies with deathly arrow when near a wall will pin them to it if they r still alive. I did it to a saurian in a cave and my pawn went to town as I laughed my ass to death

blight is so powerful in this game. for any one who wants to really experience it without the hassle of getting expensive arrows, just buy the Spite daggers from the Checkpoint rest town for the Thief. Use ye olde Helm splitter and watch things melt. I think the arrows and this specific pair of daggers are the only ways for the player to inflict Blight. I could be wrong, and I may have missed something else.

@@TrairFrair Yup, Spite was the first weapon I dragonforged. Because it is a mid-game weapon, the dragonforging helps it keep up in end-game in terms of damage. That combined with the fact that Thief is already a very powerful class with no real weakness means you can just use these for most of the game. Although, true end game weapons will almost definitely outperform most weapons regardless of status. So keep that in mind. But on the other hand, you don't really need those powerful weapons since the game is meant to be a power-fantasy.

I love this video! I've seen a lot of Archer guides made by people who don't seem to deeply understand the vocation, and that's clearly not the case here. I also just hit level 110 and, while Trickster is my main, Archer is my third-most played vocation and I really love it. I tend to play at closer range than most people probably do, making a lot of use of the kick- and slide-shots (Parting Shots fired during those do as much damage as a full-charged Steady Shot, for those who don't know), but I still fully agree with your skill rankings here. I usually run with Spiral Arrow, Deathly Arrow, and any two of the elemental arrows (Erupting and Nocuous are my faves). People tend to not realize the sheer lockdown potential of Spiral and how quickly it can apply elemental effects. Any normal-sized enemy will also be perma-stunned by a Spiral Arrow until it ends. I've also seen it slowly drill enemies right off the edge of cliffs, lol. I tend to find that regular Quick Shots auto-aim and fire off fast enough to deal with harpies without having to bring Tempest Shot, but it's still a really great skill. I also want to shout out the core skill Puncture Dart, definitely an underrated ability that I bet a lot of Archers don't even know how to do (click the right stick down while aiming Steady Shot). It has a lot of power and can hit multiple enemies. And can we nominate Archer for the most filthy vocation in the game!? The sheer disrespect on kicks! Kicking off enemies to do aerial shots, kicking skeleton heads off, the double flying kicks while sheathed, kicking enemies while they're down... just really vile, lol.

To note, Deathly arrow sweet release is 3 seconds after you activate the attack. Counting mentally will help a lot with the timing.

Remember they had a special arrow in the first game that would guarantee to 1 shot any dragons as long as you were not detected. But the arrow was in very limited quantity. I remember seeing peoples using that "'exploit" to level up really quickly.

Pro tip: Whenever you're using the RB Steady shot, to fire Incendiary/Erupting shot, IMMEDIATELY fire another arrow, to proc the explosion/tarring effect.

The archer maister skill also state the more stamina remains the potent the shot will be. And if understood that correctly you deal more damage depending how much stamina remains. And if that isnt a joke in itself it took me almost all my stamina to fully charge it. when i got 1300 stamina and 1600 with rings and using skill that reduce stamina usage with each skill still leaving my stamina down to 20%. They need to rework archer and greatsword majorly here since they to me at least 2nd to 3rd worst class to use in the entire game and trickster at the bottom.

That's pretty similar to how I had my old Archer pawn equipped (with Calm Inclination) and she was constantly hired; I was running Tempest Shot, Erupting Shot (or Deluging Shot), Spiral Arrow, and Cascade Shot.

You can use it to cause the inferno status by either tarring a burning target or burning a tarred target. It pairs well with erupting arrow, a spell caster or rogue with a fire skill, or even with a fire enchantment. It's also quite useful with warfarer because you have the ability to combo it with other vocations. One of my favorites is to use magick archer to either combo with orb or flamefang arrow. I especially like the orb because it sticks to targets for a very long time, burning them constantly.

Im confused. On my save, with a max upgraded medusa bow, max strength through rings and augments, archer does less damage than a mage just spamming levin. Spiral arrows never stagger any big monster and deal damage that reminds me of the trickster 🙃 I leveled all vocations and I leveled the archer as one of the last, meaning I had top tie equipment for it right off the bat. But anywhere outside of the weakest areas, stuff takes negligible damage from my arrows. What am I doing wrong? I'm shooting weakspots as much as I can, but don't get results anywhere near yours. Archer feels like it tickles enemies and is almost the worst class in the game, the only worse one being trickster. So again, anything I'm doing wrong? I just shoot stuff in their usual weak spots, not like archer gameplay is particularly deep lol.

Honestly kinda disappointed with Archers Maister skill. You wanna run either Dire/Deathly Arrow or Heavenly Arrow, not both; highly recommend Deathly. You get to fire multiple, not deplete all your stamina and you get the cool perfectly timed shot

i find this class boring, your final skill suck, your true skill for damage is too overpower and makes the games too easy and in general i just don't like it... the combo you can do with ice and poison are very cool (mage with ice affinity, you secondary with poison daggers and fire daggers skill, enjoy carnage). Manual gatling on the face of a monster that is down feels too damn good even if you don't do big punish damage) shotgun arrows can feel incredible when the mobs are all in one point but most of the time, mobs are not in that condition and you need to space/aim very well to use it on monster (if they are not down) so i always prefer gatiling

You don't use the auto target on bosses. Never said you did. You use it to easily clear small targets. And the damage with manual aim on bosses is still far less than with other bow skills.
