My recent trip on Lake Winnebago, going off the west shore near Oshkosh, was very productive day for an unusual fish species through the ice. In search of Perch, Walleye, and maybe a White Bass, I found another active fish that gave me some fun action for the day. Not my first or even last choice of fish to target on Lake Winnebago, but I always say I take what the lake gives me and this day it was all about the Sheepshead. A lot of Drops on the tip ups, but the jig rod stayed bent most of the day. I accessed the lake from the Merritt street access and used the farthest North bridge across the crack, roughly 2 miles east and half mile south, were I found a group that I set up on the outskirts and started fishing. I drilled about 12-15 holes and preceded to hole hop those holes for the next 3 to 4 hours. I managed 2 perch a sheepshead and 2 white bass to take home for a meal. Thanks for Watching!
