M1G1 you couldn't have blocked with unexpected fangs profitably. Since he had 2 seal of fire he could have killed his own attacker that you blocked to prevent the lifegain.

Pauper is an eternal format. I don't think there should be a speed cap on the format. I constantly rotate decks and play a bit of everything and I don't really mind where we're at right now. I wanted Bridges banned for a long time. And maybe I still do, but I'm not as sure as before.

​@@Martian_Manhunterthere still should be a control so all playstyles are possibile. Right now it's very hard to play control and midrange, with a few exception aggro as a strategy is too strong. Game should be interactive but dumping your hand and running over you is the most viabile strategy.

How is that true? On MTGO it's just an independent trigger and in paper it would use last known information to determine the name.

@@BoshNRollbecause in paper it counts the vowels on the sticker but if you killed it before having put the sticker on, it doesn’t get one. They programmed it to work the same way on MTGO.

Ok I'm caught up now. Placing the sticker in paper is on resolution of the trigger, which means it won't have a name at all if it's killed in response, so LKI doesn't see anything. MTGO is worded to mimic that. Thanks for pointing that out everyone. :) @@bbbfilms3411

FYI the correct use of snuff out against the red burn decks is to kill name sticker goblin when it enters the battlefield. Such a huge tempo play and a great way to trap an op when you are tapped out. Killing that Voldaren epicure game 1 was so hard to watch. Meanwhile counterspells need to be saved for the huge damage go-wide plays, -bush wacker and to a lesser extent rebirths.

On the topic of stopping the payoffs rather than the draw effects in Red. I think i lean towards saying no to the effect because they are often trying to draw that next piece of gas or get through their deck and if I can leave them with less cards available I can better address whay they play. If they draw 2 and flip two spells to my one counter and theres a swiftspear, I cant stop both.

Love pauper so much. There are so many cool decks in the format, from Aggro to Control to Combo. Btw, the main creature type synergies in the format are Faeries and Slivers, with the Goblins deck actually being a combo deck.

45:30 the only real "vampire synergy" card that could even theorhetically see play is like, vampiric fury? (1R instant vamps get +2/+0 and first strike). goblins have at minimum skirk prospector and goblin grenade that sees play, and theorhetically stuff like Goblin Chirurgeon (R 0/2 sac a goblin:regenerate target creature) and goblin lookout (1R 1/2 tap, sac a goblin: goblins get +2/+0)

Maybe you cover it later in the league, but you should have snuff out'd the Name Sticker goblin game one when you were tapped out as it denies the trigger for mana.

So, I personally prefer a lower number of 5/5s (2 less GAnglers), no Thorn, and one less Deep Analysis for Fallaji Archaeologists. Its an Augur of Bolas that can be a 1/4 body against various aggressive decks in the format.

I don't think you need *every* dual land to have land types, as long as you have a few island-swamps to find with Lorien Revealed. Maybe some of the taplands should be Dismal Backwater to help you a bit against aggro.
