Metawork Monday - Fabricate a Planer Dust Collector Manifold
In this metal work Monday we do some basic sheetmetal fabrication work. We cut out some 16 gauge cold rolled sheetmetal, used our sheetmetal brake to bend it. Our powermatic 180 Planer didnt come with a dust collection port. Rather than buy something, we decided to make a dust catcher the cheap way. This simple, cheap, DIY dust sucker could easily be made by the DIY person with simple tools. We have an Oneida dust vaccum out back of the shop that we connected this to. Now all of our wood dust collection for the Power matic planer is taken care of.
