In all my years of exploring the Inyo National Forest I had never been to Lundy Canyon. In July of 2020, I ascended the Lundy Canyon trail and was awestruck by the canyons vastness and beauty.

Did the hike today. Awesome. I didn't know you needed a permit for a day hike . Oh well I only saw 2 other hikers

Permit is never needed for a dayhike, only for overnight.

Never thought about hiking this canyon, but will hike there when smoke clears and Inyo is opened. Love the end of video info, it is very helpful. So sorry about the fires around LA and Inyo. Stay safe.
