I feel like crying....what a time to have grown up in. The 80s will never be repeated again and I mean EVER!!! Such talent, beauty, stage presence, should I go on lol. That kick ,snatch the microphone & drop into the choreography was friggin the best. Sheila E was a beast with those drum sticks. Seen her live a few times, once with Prince in London, UK. I remember dragging my teenage son at the last minute to come with me as a friend of mine dropped our, he didn’t know who she was until he Googled her on the way back from the show. He said “mum, am I allowed to swear’ as he was sooo shocked how gorgeous she was in her hey-day (she still is)! Too funny! He was also happy that as we were close to the stage she gave him a hi five and wink so that memory will always stay with him! ❤️❤️❤️

I saw her open for The Purple One, Easter Sunday 1985, under a full moon at the Orange Bowl in Miami! She did this set, & his Royal Badness appeared at the end & joined in with guitar!! The incomparable Sheila E!! She is a phenomenal performer. I remember watching this in 1985--the year i graduated High School. Its easy to see why Prince admired her and loved her so much! She is pure talent! ❤

@@ronaldeatman6603 Thanks. I only casually followed that scene, not like my cousin in Atlanta who actually came to know some of that crowd. I didn't realize the discrepancy. I also thought her having her dad be a longtime and recognized musician probably helped.

Prince may have been ultimately more famous, but if anything he was a “Sheila E Man” since he is the one who followed her career first before he ever became famous and approached her for her exceptional talent when she was already playing for major stars and with her family.

Sheila E. is one example of how our women & girls were so pretty back in the 80's & they dressed so clean & stylish!! Our styles & ways were totally different & completely better than Hollywood is now!! I'd love it if we could have our ways back!!
