SA manufactures very, very little of its own clothing, most of the items are imported and sold on, sometimes the labels are not even changed. Now the so called retailers are upset because they are being side stepped by the public and can get exactly the same product for half the price- because they are not paying the retailers mark-up..and why should they? It's exactly the same as paying twice for services because of tenderpreneurs and we are sick and tired of being ripped off by the tender process as individual tax payers and Municipalities. It's just the same when retailers do this, they are not adding any value - they are not part of the value chain - just the gravy train. Just to be clear, no manufacturers are being put out of business- because we manufacture very little clothing in SA, very little, so there is no justification for a "protectionism" tax - (customs tax) being imposed because there is no industry to protect. It's the retailers and resellers that are losing out- it's called "business" and it appears retail needs to grow a pair ....or find another business. No more ripping off SA consumers.

This may seem economical to the country but to the consumer this is no longer worth it.
