This Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe (CSX2287) was the prototype racing coupe version of the Shelby Cobra roadster and was the first vehicle added to the National Historic Vehicle Register. It is powered by a naturally aspirated Ford Motor Company 289 cubic inch displacement V-8 engine with four Weber 48 mm IDA carburetors. It is the most original of the six Daytona Coupes built and currently resides in the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia, PA where it is still driven and displayed.

I watched the Shelby doc on Netflix recently. Carrol told his guy in Europe to either crush, or drop in the ocean, the Cobra Daytona's they just raced at Le Man's. He thought they weren't worth the money to ship back. The man couldn't do it, and shipped them back. If he would of just kept them, would of had 10-25 million dollars today. It never ceases to amaze me that no-one thought these racers would be worth any money

@@johnmontag I understand. The things people save thinking it will be worth a lot never are, it's always the things that get used up and thrown away that end up being valuable. I saw an auction for a 1970 Ford F-250 High-Boy with about 3000 miles on it, it sold for $93,000, crazy.
